What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Sean's offers a unique dining experience with a cozy atmosphere and stunning Bondi Beach views, lauded for its farm-fresh, market-driven menu and impeccable service. While many praise the quality of ingredients and the artistic presentation, some diners feel that for the price, certain dishes could be more exceptional, with occasional inconsistencies in execution and value.
"Loved the service and ambiance and most of the food :)
Half of the dishes we loved (pork and parfait), and half were bland (beet starter and mushroom pasta main). The cheese desert was great as were the included oysters.
For the price a few of the dishes could have been better but leaving 5 stars as I love the restaurant being there and overall a great dining experience :)"

"A cozy yet busy restaurant overlooking Bondi Beach. Food is rustic with sizable portions. Hearty but nothing great to write home about. Nevertheless, a nice restaurant when one is out by Bondi Beach."

"Cant get to 5, here's why.. I've been coming here since day 1, and what made this 5 was raw materials, as well conceived as baby Einstein, and as well executed as Marie Antoinette. What then takes the edge off, dropping a star? The service is attentive and friendly but imperfect. For example, twice delivering dishes and not checking drinks. There were a few such minor slips. And, both i and the daily full house are ok with this being a 3 course $140 deal. But please give us some top $ ingredients. Soup, pippies, or chicken livers are the $40 entree choices? I remember high-end items in wonderful creations in the past here. Lamb is terrific for sure and great pasta. But mulloway is running now and used to be on the menu here, as was harpuka. Wonderfully cooked as it was, snapper is terrific, but it ain't coral trout or Murray cod, Mulloway or Harpuka. The desserts are well made but also a little less work (and half a mediocre fig? Really?) than the tarts of old, let alone the quince trifle that should have never left this menu. It belongs in a museum. These are small quibbles, and the bread and amuse are better than ever. Only, I'm 20 minutes stroll away, and enough dollars to come monthly....but for chicken livers, snapper and ice cream, well executed as they were, it feels a little more about what's easy than what's extraordinary. So, if I'm not coming back regularly, it can't be 5* any more."

It’s a set three-course meal (with a choice of three options per serve), so go easy on the freshly baked sourdough and house-churned butter that will land on your table — it’s hard to stop eating it and easy to fill up before the main event arrives.
