What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Wirtshaus Elefant receives praise for its delicious Austrian cuisine, with many highlighting the exceptional Wiener schnitzel and the availability of gluten-free options. Diners appreciate the friendly and attentive service, as well as the cozy and charming atmosphere in a prime Salzburg location. However, some reviews mention inconsistencies, with certain dishes being too heavy or a dessert not meeting expectations.
"We really liked the place! The food was delicious, the presentation was nice, and the staff was friendly and attentive. We had the veal schnitzel – it was amazingly juicy! The cutlets with mashed potatoes were also exceptional. For dessert, we had the cottage cheese knödel – a unique and well-balanced flavor. We left with the most pleasant impressions after our visit."

"Amazing place and awesome food! We went there for a dinner and despite not having a reservation, we were seated immediately. Service was great. We tried the patty with mashed potatoes and veggies, and beef and for dessert some salzburger nockerl. Each of the dishes was fantastic and we had our best meal at Salzburg here. A big thumbs up!"

"The schnitzel was amazing. We really liked it. The plate with the veal patties was kind of heavy. The Salzburg dessert had a taste of eggs, so it wasn't very tasty. Overall a very nice restaurant with great atmosphere."
