Located inside a glass covered building designed to resemble a naval vessel, this classy venue boasts some of the most picturesque views along the canal. The menu contains a mixture of gourmet Austrian and international cuisine, with many classic dishes, such as beef tartar, salmon fillet, and Wiener schnitzel. A more refined option than some of the more casual eateries along the canal, Motto Am Fluss is perfect for formal occasions.

Young Austrians refer to cocktail hour as AWB, or “after-work beer”. And one bend of the Danube Canal is rich in places to indulge — suave cocktail joints that reflect the water in their glassy facades. Motto — a riverside bar shaped like the catamarans in the water below that depart for Bratislava (“fluss” is German for “flow”) — is accessed by a shallow gangplank-like staircase.

The chic Motto am Fluss restaurant is located within the terminal for the Danube Canal ferries, but it’s like no dock you’ve ever seen before. The futuristic and super-bright space looks like a sleek cruise ship itself. On the lower level, the restaurant, with its black-and-white-checkered floor and silver orb lamps, reflects Venetian influences.

Das » Motto am Fluss« zelebriert jedes Detail beim Brunch ab 8 Uhr. Ei, Beinschinken, knuspriger Speck, Käse, Avocado, Tomaten, Salat und eine würzige Habanero-Mayonnaise stecken im »All Day Breakfast Sandwich«, das weiche Ei wird mit Brotsticks, Schnittlauch und Zitronensalz serviert, zu den gebratenen Süßkartoffeln gibt es ein Stundenei, Avocado, eingelegte Radieschen sowie pikantes Joghurt und die sündhaft gute Nougatcreme ist hier natürlich auch hausgemacht. Genossen wird der Brunch auf der Sonnenterrasse mit Blick auf den Donaukanal.

Continue your ride on the Ring and you will soon reach Schwedenplatz where you can stop for a coffee or snack on the terrace of the Motto am Fluss café. You’ll be awarded a great view and a very relaxed atmosphere in the middle of the city right next to the river. There’s also the stop for the speedboat which brings you to Bratislava in an hour if you have more time. After your stop, turn right on Stubenring on which you will find the MAK (Museum for Applied Arts), the Stadtpark followed by Schwarzenbergplatz.

In the summer, the outdoor seating on the deck is busy, but if you come before dinner time you can snatch a lounge chair. Their apricot ice tea is great!.

Es ist kein französischer Name, aber es gibt französisches Gebäck: Von französischer Pâtisserie über Baguettes und Pain au Chocolat bis zu (Mandel) Croissants gibt’s hier französische Genüsse. Das Croissant im Motto ist für alle, die es ein bißchen weniger crunchy mögen aber trotzdem knusprig. Gesamt auf jeden Fall unter den besten Croissants der Stadt!

Es ist eines der Brunch-Lieblingslokale von Frühstücksverliebten, deswegen ist es oft gar nicht so einfach noch einen Platz zu ergattern. Früher auch ein Konzeptstore gewesen konzentriert sich das SNEAK IN nunmehr zur Gänze auf die Gastronomie. Unter der Woche kann man hier gemütlich in den Tag starten und von einer sehr diversen Speisekarte wählen.

Beim burgenländischen Bundesland-Voting darf sich »Simon« aus Bad Tatzmannsdorf (33 Prozent) über den ersten Platz freuen. Der stolze zweite Platz geht an das »Seecafé« in Podersdorf (30 Prozent). Mit 13 Prozent der Votes konnte sich die bekannte Konditorei und Café »Kaplan am Kurpark«, ebenfalls aus Bad Tatzmannsdorf, den dritten Platz sichern.

The original plan didn’t materialize and Vienna was fortunate enough to have this restaurant. This restaurant offers not only the local dishes but the number of international dishes as well.

Here we look at smart casual dining at the swish double-starred Michelin restaurant, Steirereck in the Stadtpark, at Zum Schwarzen Kameel, Motto am Fluss and the family-owned Plachutta. Vienna’s eating out scene is dominated by family owned restaurants, small chains and a love of sharing Austrian favourites and regional dishes.

With both brunch and dinner options, Motto is a fun restaurant with beautiful cocktails and a classic yet somehow modern vibe. Within minutes upon arrival, you can tell the staff has fun, and it flows into the guests. The menu is creative yet familiar, and an overall excellent place to dine!

It looks like a boat and in fact does function as the docking station for passenger ships along the Danube canal. This stylish cafe/restaurant at the Schwedenplatz "port" is a welcome change from the present concentration of ice cream parlors and bars nearby.
