I spent a cozy €12 afternoon here, nibbling on a slice of orange chocolate cake and sipping coffee while basking in the loving gazes of Vienna’s true national treasures — the baking grandmas and grandpas. Their warm smiles made me feel like I was back in my childhood kitchen — if my childhood included excellent branding and a coin-based cake economy.

The cake? Decadent. Like grandma accidentally dropped a piece of sunshine into a vat of chocolate and said, “Oops, serve it anyway.” Worth every cent.

Now, let’s talk vibes. The older staff radiated joy and purpose; they could have tucked me in for a nap and I’d have let them. The younger staff, however, looked like they were drafted into service after a cancelled techno festival. But hey, it’s a full-pension operation — balance is important.

And the Grandma-Coin system? Brilliant. It’s like a Chuck E. Cheese token, but instead of games, you get diabetes — lovingly baked.

The grandpas and grandmas are so lively and dessert was amazing. We got the Buchtel and caprese cake. Both were so good. Not overly sweet. Def recommend! And they have cute postcards as a souvenir from here."
