"I have to say that this experience was 10 out of 10, I've been fortunate enough to eat all over the world and this restaurant deserves all the recognition possible. The mixology of the drinks, the story behind the restaurant, the art behind each dish, and the view itself was beyond words. Giselle our server knew the dishes, the drinks, and the history of the region. She made the experience that much better. Thank you!"

"We’ve been travelling around Colombia for 2 weeks and can honestly say this is the first bad meal we’ve had! It was also the most expensive - a bad combination.
We went to this restaurant because it was very well reviewed - however, the talented chef that earned all those great reviews has clearly moved on as whoever is in the kitchen now burnt the rice with the chicken curry (pictured). You would assume a professional cook could make rice without burning it but even if the rice was burned (mistakes do happen after all) to have the gall to actually serve burnt rice to a paying customer is shocking. The curry itself was bland and watery, not recommended at all.
The beef tenderloin was tasty in fairness, and the pumpkin rice was delicious. However, it’s hard to give credit when the portion advertised on the menu differs so much to the actual portion served (see photos). Calling it false advertising wouldn’t be unfair!
We mentioned this to the waitress when she asked us how everything was - nothing was done but she did manage to add the 10% tip on to the bill.
All in all, this restaurant appears to have taken a sizeable dip in quality to the extent it is now massively overpriced. The view over the bay and the décor are nice at least. Would avoid if you are in Taganga, there are other restaurants where you’ll get a nice meal without feeling robbed."

"I had the dive bowl and my partner had the marinara pasta. As an entree we shared the trio dips, the entrée was the highlight. The bread was a great consistency and not dry at all, the hummus was delicious. If there is something to provide feedback on it would be the consistency of the dive in bowl, the quinoa was a bit soggy but the fish was fresh and cooked perfectly. The sunset view is delightful!"

While we are on the topic of excellent meals, restaraunt Babaganoush provides a fantastic range of meals and is also rumored to have an excellent mojito on hand. However, the prices here are steep. For a cheaper meal, walk down along the beachfront and stop by Bitácora - where you can get a fresh juice and a Pescado Marinero for a fair price.
Where To Eat In Taganga
El Rio's top choice, Babaganoush is a huge bamboo building overlooking the entire bay. The impressive menu combines Italian, Arabic, French and Asian cuisines. Starters include beef carpaccio, vitello tonnato (finely sliced roast beef with tuna mayonnaise - it’s absolutely delicious), and falafel.
Should I bother with Taganga?
You will find this place on the outskirts of town, out towards El Mirador. It’s vantage point on the hill means that you get to enjoy beautiful views of the bay whilst you dine. In my opinion there is only one option here – the three course menu for COP 25,000 (approx.£7.90).

I had read a recommendation for Babaganoush on another blog, however after reading the most recent reviews on Google, it sounds like the quality of the food has gone down in recent years. People still recommend it as a great place for drinks to watch the sunset, however.

Restaurant Bar Babaganoush is a grill restaurant with traditional cuisine, offering vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options. The price range is €16 – €30 and they serve very good quality products.
