Before Le Jules Verne, he worked at Michelin-starred restaurants L'Atelier Joel Robuchon Saint Germain, L'Orangerie and Le Pre Catalan in Paris.

The Atlantis Resort is known for its mouth watering selection of gourmet restaurants – from The Bahamian Club to Cafe Martinique. And yes, one can easily spend $75-$100 per person at these spots. However, there are also plenty of casual dining options that make much more sense for families on a budget.

For dinner, we previously dined at Cafe Martinique on the Marina, which is a fine dining restaurant that feels very Bahamian. It’s one of the prettiest restaurants at which I have ever dined. The food is seasonal and vegetable-forward, with many high-end options.

Paradise Island, meanwhile, has a vast amount of restaurants in its hotels, including Café Martinique in Atlantis (Marina Village, Casino Dr., Paradise Island) for good French food in the Bahamas and Dune (Ocean Club, Ocean Club Dr., Paradise Island).

Call ahead to make dinner reservations to make sure you don't miss out at places like Todd English’s Olives, Jean-Georges Restaurant’s Café Martinique and Atlantis’ signature restaurants such as 77° West. Large parties can reserve Nobu’s Sake Cellar.

Known for its grills, everything from prime rib for two, to a succulent veal chop, Cafe Martinique is perfection. Paradise Island's most most elegant and upscale restaurant features imported art and antiques from Belle Epoque Paris.

This restaurant offers a diverse Mediterranean cuisine and a range of cocktails, beers, wine, and even desserts. It also offers live music entertainment for a relaxing atmosphere. Families with young ones are welcome.

The favorite "special nite" restaurant would be Cafe Martinique or Bahamian Club. Trouble is two-fold. One is that due to the economy, these upscale restaurants are now full of kids, strollers, whiners etc.

While jacket and ties aren’t required, it would be a good idea to wear one. The official dress code is “Resort Elegant”. Only open for dinner, Cafe Martinique serves up a small menu of dishes done well.
