What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Tom's Diner is praised for its exceptionally delicious and creative fusion cuisine, with many highlighting the unique tapas and flavorful main courses like the steak and pork belly. The cozy ambiance and friendly service contribute to a memorable dining experience. While most reviews are overwhelmingly positive, a few diners have noted that flavors could be more pronounced and portion sizes can be very generous.
"I spent my afternoon walking around The Bruges Loop trail before getting dinner from Tom's.
If you're curious, if you keep an average pace of roughly 19 minutes/mile (11 minutes/kilometer) you can walk around the entire city in under 3 hours, it's a great way to explore.
Anyway back to Tom's. I made a reservation for 8:30 just in case it was busy. I took the bus so I got to walk around through the neighborhood and I was surprised by how quiet the area was compared to the other parts of the city. I arrived early but was seated quickly.
Since it was my first time in Belgium I decided to go the route recommended by the menu of getting three tapas, instead of a single course. I think this is definitely the way to go if you want to try a variety of foods for roughly the same price as getting a single dish.
I started with the Lacquered Porkbelly on Sourdough Toast. It was incredibly delicious. The meat was tender and had great flavor especially paired with the sourdough.
I then got the Hotdog Deluxe which was also good the chicken sausage was tasty. I'm not usually a fan of pickles or pickled onions but they surprisingly complimented the sandwich.
I finished with the Marinated Ribs. The meat was delicious despite being a little tough. And the dipping sauce was a great enhancement.
Highly recommend Tom's for a nice evening and a great selection of dishes and tastes."

"The food was good - my steak was excellent. However, I was expecting more flavours to come through. The portions are HUGE, so much so that we were a little over-faced with the amount of food that we were given.
I would recommend based on the steak and the service but I think that we have had better food in Bruges."

"Searching for a fine dining experience with a moderate price? This is it. The food was absolutely magnificent, the pasta carbonara with truffle sauce was prepared perfectly. A little bit of garnishing could have been better with the steak tapas but still it was delicious.
The atmosphere is ideal for a date as well as for a family dinner. Definitely a must visit in Brügge"

The cooking style is a fusion of Eastern Asian and Western European cuisine. It was a surprise for me since I was looking for a local restaurant (should have researched better). However, the food quality was excellent, for example the prawn risotto was prepared with fresh materials, nicely seasoned with refreshing basil and white asparagus.
