Reviews Summary

Fin de Siècle is celebrated for its authentic, hearty Belgian cuisine and lively, traditional tavern atmosphere. Diners praise the generous portions of dishes like beef stew and the extensive beer selection. However, be prepared for potential waits, as the popular spot does not take reservations, and the menu is in French.

"Lovely restaurant with great service (even in English). Cash only.

Drinks menu is provided and food menu is in French on the walls.
Good beer and drink selections.
Generous portion for the meal and lovely playing. Delicious flavours.

Washrooms downstairs, patio available.
50 pence for take out box"

Bonnie Elena

"Nice welcoming by the waitress and the overall environment was so cozy and slow music at the background.

They served great local beers! Asked for best seller, and it was super good.

My personal highlight on the food was the Beef Stew! It’s so tender and the source was unbelievable! We also ordered pork ribs, the salad was so fresh, marination of the meat hits that superb spot, and the bake potato was abit too much of a quantity. Big portion of food for an Asian, and we didn’t manage to finish the food here. Take away the balance for supper!

One of the best food for my Europe trip adventure! Highly recommended for everyone!"

"Fin de Siècle: A Timeless Brussels Gem

Having first discovered Fin de Siècle back in 2008, I'm delighted to report that this restaurant remains as consistently excellent today as it was over a decade and a half ago. It's rare to find a restaurant that maintains such high standards over such a long period, and Fin de Siècle truly stands out.

From the moment you step in, there's a welcoming, authentic Brussels atmosphere. But it's the food that truly shines. The dishes are consistently good, offering hearty and delicious Belgian fare that never disappoints. What's more, the presentation is always thoughtful and appealing, adding to the overall dining experience.
For beer enthusiasts, Fin de Siècle is a true paradise. Their selection is nothing short of fantastic, offering a diverse range of Belgian beers to perfectly complement your meal.
Beyond the culinary delights, the service is consistently good – attentive, friendly, and efficient, contributing to a truly enjoyable visit every time.
Whether you're a long-time fan or a first-time visitor, Fin de Siècle is a must-visit in Brussels.
It's a testament to quality, consistency, and genuine Belgian hospitality. Highly recommended!"

Restaurants in Brussels

Despite its minimal signage, Fin de Siècle holds to that peculiarly obstinate breed of restaurant that flourishes despite itself. Its brown interior, big communal tables, and hearty cooking---stews smothered in beer-infused gravy, sausages atop heaving mountains of stoempe mash, and the odd North African influence---has ensured a healthy popularity and lively spirit. Covid might have finally forced them to get a reservation system, but in a city of old-school estaminets trying to out-tradition each other, Fin de Siècle is the eccentric granddaddy of them all.

Eat like a local: Brussels is a foodie capital laying on a feast of specialities

You may have to wait for a table -it doesn’t take reservations – but Fin de Siècle near Place Sainte-Catherine is a true Brussels experience with its large communal tables, chalked up menu board and heaving plates of steaming and largely meaty classic dishes served with mash or baked potatoes rather than habitual fries. The beer menu isn’t bad either. A more upmarket address in the sumptuous setting of the Royal Saint-Hubert Galleries, Le Marmiton attracts clients with its Belgian specialities, extensive selection of seafood dishes and stylish period décor.

5 Best Places to Eat in Brussels

Fin de Siecle is another good traditional Belgium restaurant. It has more tables compared to Nuetnigenough, so it’s easier to find a seat but it also doesn’t accept reservations. For the menu, it’s written on a chalkboard on the wall and in front of the store in French ( i think), so you’ll have to translate it yourself but you can order in English just fine.
