What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Frit Flagey is lauded for serving some of the best Belgian fries, celebrated for their perfect crispiness and fluffy interior. Reviewers rave about the generous portions and unique sauce selections, particularly the Dallas sauce. While queues are common, the service is generally efficient and friendly, with staff making efforts to communicate. Some criticism exists regarding industrial fry quality and unpleasant sauces, but overall, the experience is highly recommended for authentic Belgian frites.
"Recommended, worth visiting.
The fries were really good. It’s not soggy and despite covering it with sauces, was still crunchy and well cooked. The Dallas sauce was an amazing dip, it’s really nice though i can’t tell what it’s made of. Tasted like a mix of ketchup, mayonnaise and some chili? The small is already quite a huge portion for one pax.
The skewer (Brochette Ardenne?) was nice too. It went very well with the Dallas sauce as well and worth to try if you need something more filling to go with the fries.
The service was good although I couldnt understand the language, the staff tried their best to explain. Food was pretty quick to serve, just had to wait slightly longer for the skewer.
Location wise, it’s just right at the Flagey bus station plaza. Pretty convenient and it’s kind of an open area with benches so you could have the fries and people watch. There’s a nearby Delhaize mart to get beer or soft drinks too."

"If you’re in Brussels and even thinking about trying Belgian fries, Frit Flagey is non-negotiable. Tucked just off Place Flagey, this little fritkot serves up some of the crispiest, fluffiest fries you’ll ever eat—twice-fried the traditional Belgian way, golden on the outside and creamy on the inside.
Yes, there’s almost always a line. But take that as a good sign: locals, students, tourists, and even late-night wanderers all queue up for a reason. The service is surprisingly quick, and the staff manage to stay friendly no matter how busy it gets.
What sets it apart? The sheer crunch of the fries, for one. But also the wide range of sauces—andalouse and samurai are crowd favorites, but don’t overlook their tartare or spicy Brasil. The portions are generous (even a medium cone could feed two), and they come piping hot in that iconic white paper cone."
