Reviews Summary

Diners praise Restobières for its authentic Belgian cuisine, unique dishes prepared with beer, and extensive beer selection. The cozy, retro atmosphere and warm service make it feel like a family dinner. While not the cheapest, the quality and unique offerings are highly valued, though some desserts can be overly sweet.

"Nice and cozy place a bit far away from the center but well worth it. Apparently they cook the meals in beer and the end result is succulent meats and tasty food. English is very well understood and spoken and they have pretty nice list of beers. We had a rabbit with prunes and shrimp croquettes and fries as sides. Better drink tap water as the bottled one is as expensive as a beer."

Jojo

"Not a cheap place but very good food. We went in 6pm sharp, and the tables were all reserved ( we had to leave by 8pm ). They do have english menu but their suggestions are in french. The kipkap was a very nice dish to try. The black pudding felt like a muffin! The food was a very good way to start out Brussels trip."

Ryn Lim

"Good food and warm services. Feel like I am eating in a family dinner. Starter and main courses are excellent. Dessert are a bit too sweet to my taste."

Chef Alain Fayt may not brew his own beer – yet – but his enthusiasm for ale led him to create a brilliant restaurant where every dish uses a recipe featuring craft or Trapppist beers, like rabbit braised with prunes and Gueuze (three-course menu €22). Just up the road from the Jeu de Balle flea market, the maze of dining rooms showcase his incredible collections of beer memorabilia. Desserts are memorable, too, from waffles smothered with a cherry Kriek coulis or Hercules stout chocolate mousse.9 Rue des Renards, + 32 25115583, restobieres.eu

Must-eat Food In Brussels | City Unscripted

Chicons au gratin is perhaps one of the most classical Belgian recipes; a hearty dish of endive rolls in a rich cheese sauce that's often eaten during winter. The best place to try this has got to be Restobieres, a restaurant that offers a true gastronomic Belgian experience but is still a well kept local secret!. They cook almost every dish on the menu with Belgian beer, ranging from dark to blond, and even including flavored brews like coconut mango beer.

Top 20 Places to Drink Beer in Brussels

Not typically known as a “beer destination” by some standards, the mix of traditional Belgian fare at Restobieres uses beer in preparation of nearly every dish, and thoughtful beer pairings takes things to another level. Quirky is the overall best way to describe the space. Filled with bric-a-brac from across Belgian cooking and beer, the walls create the feeling that one is hanging out at their Belgian grandmother’s house.
