Reviews Summary
Bolivian Popular Food is highly praised for its inventive take on traditional Bolivian cuisine, offering a multi-course meal with stunning presentation and delicious flavors at an excellent value. Diners appreciate the knowledgeable and attentive staff who explain each dish. While the food is generally loved, some find the desserts less appealing, and the restaurant's popularity means significant wait times are common.
"Factor in some waiting time, this place lives up to its name. Food and service are fabulous, enjoyed our lunch there a lot.
Edit: came here a second time a week later. All of the food was terrific, very much enjoyed the variety of different flavours of the local cuisine."

Some staff spoke English (thank you!), and they were right onto our empty plates without feeling too rushed. Seriously, it's a great place to be shared with friends!

Two days in La Paz: an itinerary
Come in time in this place, because the title of the small restaurant says it all: it’s a gem and perhaps La Paz’s best public secret. First come, first serve and even before the doors are opened you might already have to wait in line to get in, together with the locals. Whatever else can I say about this place: it’s probably the best spot for lunch in La Paz.
La Paz, Bolivia Itinerary: A Week of Things to Do
After another vista-filled ride on the teleférico (even locals were snapping photos), I arrived at my lunch spot, Popular Cocina Boliviana (Murillo 826). The name was fitting; there was a 45-minute wait. Not surprising, since a three-course prix fixe at this local gem (recently added to the 50 Best Latin American Restaurants’ extended list) is $11.43.
