What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
La Cueva offers a unique dining experience with a fusion of Mexican and European flavors, praised for its daily specials, cozy ambiance, and friendly service. While many enjoy the authentic taste and good value, some reviews point to issues with food authenticity, slow service during peak times, and high prices for certain dishes.
"Great food and excellent daily specials. Nice decor and atmosphere also. Staff really good. Prices excellent also. We visited several times during our stay in La Paz. Couldn't recommend enough!"
Sharlene Chance
"Genuinely the worst meal I’ve had in South America. Veg burrito took 35 mins to come out and looked like this. Left hungry and ripped off."
Matt Martin
"Costs a fortune and the food is not remotely authentic Mexican. They also charge a 10% gratuity, making the enchiladas 80 BOB. The vegetarian filling on the enchiladas was tasty but sauce on top was lacking and the cheese wasn’t fully melted. My friend had chicken enchiladas and said there was no seasoning, basically just plain chicken. There is no homemade salsa or hot sauce to serve with either, just what tastes like Frank’s Red Hot. The plus side is that the serving sizes are large and the atmosphere is okay."
