What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Sushi San is widely celebrated as the premier sushi destination in Bosnia and Herzegovina, lauded for its exceptional freshness, quality ingredients, and expertly prepared dishes. Diners frequently praise the interactive experience with passionate chefs and the cozy, music-filled atmosphere. However, some patrons have found the pricing to be on the higher side, and a rare complaint mentioned a less-than-ideal customer interaction.
"The only sushi restaurant worth visiting in all of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The quality of the fish is always up to par, everything is freshly prepared right in front of you. The only real miso soup in Sarajevo. My favorites are Rainbow roll and unagi nigiri. The owner is great and will always try to make you feel at home!"

"Hands down the best sushi place in Sarajevo, Bosnia even! The freshness of the fish, the creativity of the rolls, and the balance of flavors are on another level. Every bite feels like it was crafted with real care and attention to detail.
It’s rare to find sushi of this quality in the region, and this spot truly raises the bar. Whether you’re a sushi lover or trying it for the first time, you won’t be disappointed."

"The sushi was amazing—we absolutely devoured it. The Rainbow Roll was 18 KM, and the California Roll was 13 KM, so we paid 31 KM in total for 16 pieces. The owner was also super friendly. He asked me if I liked the sushi, and I told him it was the best I’ve ever had in my entire life. He laughed and said, “You’ve got plenty of life left to live.” I thought that was really funny."

This restaurant gets off to a great start with a punny name: San is a title of respect added to a name in Japanese; San means dream in Bosnian. As you would expect, this is a sushi restaurant and it is genuinely excellent. The owner and chef is exceptionally passionate about sushi and really cares about making good quality food with top ingredients.
