Reviews Summary
Tay San Boa Viagem is celebrated for its extensive and beautifully presented sushi buffet, with standout dishes like sunomono and tuna earning high praise. Diners appreciate the reasonable prices and attentive staff, though some note a tendency for rolls to include cheese, a unique Brazilian characteristic. The buffet style ensures variety and speed, making it a popular choice for a satisfying Asian dining experience in Recife.
"The food was great! I would highly recommend this restaurant! There's a wide selection of food and the service id's great."
Nicholas Tyler
"Nice place! Very clean and comfortable. Very varied buffet (it's also "easy to navigate") with beautiful presentation. I loved the food, specially the sunomono dish and the tuna! They have well trained and very attentive staff. Down point to their delay on assisting us when we sat at a table located at the back corner of the restaurant (we ended up switching tables)."

"This is buffet style sushi with some cooked dishes. I wanted to try it and see how it compares to the buffet style sushi I have eaten in the U.S. and how it compared to the buffet style sushi in the mall in Joao Pessoa.
First, I agree with the other poster about the cheese. There is a surprising amount of cheese in this sushi. Many of the rolls include cheese, which might be a Brazilian thing, since the place in the Joao Pessoa mall also had cheese in their rolls, though not as many as Tay San. Compared to the U.S., where you might have one or two variation on Philadelphia Roll but no cheese in the rest, I felt that the amount of selections with cheese was too much.
Second, this is buffet sushi, and is not as good as sushi prepared to order. It is...OK - maybe a little lower in quality than the sushi restaurants I know of in the U.S. The cooked items are OK as well - they tend to be on the oily (or cheesy) side.
The price is reasonable, and if you want sushi quickly and at a reasonable price and are willing to settle for buffet quality sushi, this is not a bad place."
