Reviews Summary

Chalet Yanitza is widely praised for its authentic, homemade Bulgarian cuisine, served in a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Diners consistently rave about the exceptional value for money and the friendly service, often highlighting the owner's personal touch. While most experiences are overwhelmingly positive, some note that dishes can sell out due to the restaurant's popularity, especially the highly recommended lentil soup.

"A delightful spot for homemade food that leaves you satisfied without feeling overly full. Every dish is flavorful, fresh, and never greasy. Service is quick and efficient, making it perfect for a lunch break when you're short on time. The owner is warm and welcoming, adding to the charm of the experience. Plus, there’s a great selection of vegan and vegetarian options to choose from!"

"Great lunch spot in Bansko! Ivan serves delicious homemade food for a superb price. Chalet Yanitza is also a nice place to socialize since there are many regular customers. The menu has quite a few items available every day but Ivan also has some 'specials' of which broccoli with cheese and bechamel sauce is highly recommended!"

Paul Roggeveen

"Very nice restaurant. The staff is very kind and very good English speaking. They have everyday menu in English on their Instagram. The food is very quickly served and delicious. Best option if you need to go for quick lunch.

PS.: if you give a tip, you will support local hungry cats."

17 Best Places to Eat in Bansko in the Summer

Since last summer, Ivan and Maria, a lovely couple from Bulgaria and Russia, have opened a place in the heart of Old Town with both outdoor and indoor seating. Each lunch comes with a free dessert of the day (sometimes a fruit plate or baklava or a small piece of cake) and there are rotating lunch specials including spinach patties, moussaka, and pasta. The chicken Julienne or big BBQ plates served on skewers are also delicious for dinner, and the menu has a wide array of traditional Bulgarian dishes including Shopska salad and palenka flatbread for very reasonable prices.

A local food guide for Bansko. By Javier Fernández | by Coworking Bansko

Recently opened, Chalet Yanitza (only 5 minutes from the Coworking space) is a homey feeling restaurant. I suggest you a bean soup and a pork neck steak, a delicious combination for about 10 lev. I have mixed feelings about Eagle’s Nest, but it is worth a visit if you want to have a cheap and decent meal in Vazrazhdane square (close to the Town hall).
