What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Hadjidraganov's Houses is lauded for its authentic Bulgarian cuisine and unique atmosphere, with many guests praising the delicious food and traditional live music. While the ambiance is generally loved, some reviews mention minor service issues, such as a waiter's unhelpful response to a table change request, and a note about the service charge not being included. Despite these points, the restaurant is considered a must-visit for an immersive cultural and culinary experience.
"Our favourite while in Bulgaria.
Food was just amazing and I was a bit concerned of being a tourist trap but not at all.. We had filling, tasty and super cheap Bulgarian food.
The are isn't great. Looks a bit dull but it is worthy.
Thank you!"

"This was my last night in Sofia, and I feel very fortunate to have discovered this restaurant.
I truly enjoyed a traditional Bulgarian dinner here — this is absolutely a must-visit spot in Bulgaria.
The décor, ambiance, and atmosphere are first-class, full of authentic Bulgarian character.
The food was delicious, and the service was attentive overall.
However, I would like to offer one piece of feedback.
When a guest requests to change tables, there is usually a reason behind it. I hope the staff can be a little more understanding, proactive, and attentive in such situations.
The table we were first assigned had a lot of flies flying around, which made it uncomfortable to sit and eat.
When I asked to change tables, the waiter back-talked me and told me to go ask the manager myself for approval.
I understand no one likes to rearrange seating or disturb the flow of service, but I also hoped to simply enjoy a pleasant dinner on my last night in Sofia.
Thank you for the lovely food and beautiful setting. With just a bit more attention to customer experience, this place would truly be perfect."

"Tasty traditional Bulgarian cuisines, beautiful indoor and wooden building. They have live traditional musics of lovely gentlemen playing traditional instruments and singing. Our waiter was amazing and attentive. They accept payment with card and cash (our Euro bill was also accepted)."

Best restaurants in Sofia : believe us, we have tested them in person
It belongs to the same owners as the previous one, hence the name is just as difficult. The decoration is also traditional tavern, the advantage of this one over the other is that it is quieter, they also sing between the tables on weekends, but being in a neighborhood north of the center of Sofia (by the way, near the Central Train and Bus Station), It has fewer tourists and there are usually no problems with having a table, which may be more complicated in the other, I recommend booking if you plan to have dinner in the center….
