Reviews Summary

Banlle Vegetarian Restaurant is highly praised for its outstanding vegan and vegetarian options, with many reviewers calling it the best they've had in Cambodia. Guests love the fresh ingredients, tranquil garden setting, and the innovative vegan takes on traditional Khmer dishes. While most reviews are glowing, some find certain dishes like ceviche to be lacking spice.

"We love this restaurant gem! We tried it on our first dinner in SR and ate in the very intimate and pretty garden - the food was delicious!
Went again for the lunch menu and there are so many options for vegan, well listed on the menus, and again the food was excellent, will definitely come back! 👌

Tofu salad is so excellent and first time we taste such a good salad sauce in Asia, and all the other dishes were very tasty!"

Anne de Joly

"Amazing restaurant, with great staff and even better food. The portions are rather large hence I’d recommend one main per person. The pad Thai was really nice but it was so much food, highly recommended it. French onion soup was amazing!"

Augustas Jackevic

"so glad i decided to try this place. Its a hidden gem. Tasty food, good service and a quaint interior. The eggplant sticks are heavenly. Looks like they grow their own veggies. There is a book store upstairs. Do check it out."

Siem Reap Dishes You Must Try in Cambodia's Culinary Capital

In Khmer, Banlle means ‘vegetable’ and this light-filled vegetarian and vegan restaurant is owned by one of Cambodia’s most eco-conscious and animal-loving chefs, Pola Siv, who also owns Mie Café, above. Most of the restaurant’s produce comes from the organic garden, trellises and planter boxes that surround the modern restaurant in a remodelled traditional wooden house, which comes as something of a surprise as the Banlle is located in the centre of the city, a block from the riverside. Another surprise is that this is a plant-based restaurant with a five-course vegetarian tasting menu and one that costs as little as US$15.

TOP PLACES TO EAT VEGAN IN SIEM REAP, CAMBODIA

You might recognise Banlle Vegetarian Restaurant from our recent blog: we headed there to try the traditional Khmer dish, Amok. There were so many things to love about Banlle, from its comprehensive vegan menus, to its tranquil garden setting, and the excellent service, so we were keen to go back. One day after we had got caught in a massive rainstorm and were pretty sad because our plans had been rained off, we knew that we wanted delicious food in a comfortable and welcoming setting, so we headed back to Banlle.
