What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Blue Pumpkin is celebrated for its delightful homemade ice creams, sorbets, and pastries, offering a sweet escape with reasonable prices for its quality. Diners appreciate the comfortable and inviting atmosphere, particularly the upstairs lounge. While the baked goods and desserts receive high praise, some main courses like lasagne, pho, and burgers have been noted as disappointing, with suggestions for healthier options and clearer menu pricing.
"I recommend Mega Hearty Platter Breakfast and Smoked Salmon Poached Egg for breakfast. Very delicious and the price is reasonable for such quality. This is only the restaurant that I could find a good quality of bakeries and pastries so far.
Will try their dessert for my next visit."

"Reasonably priced desserts, the iced coffee comes in different sizes, but the small one is definitely reasonable already. While prices on the counter are both in local currency and dollars, it isn't the case on the main menu, which would have been nice to have.
Personally loved my chocolate and passion fruit mousse, but the mango passion cheese cake wasn't anything that great, more of a plain one than anything else. There's upstairs and downstairs seating with all day breakfast that looked amazing, a variety of pastries and bakeries to grab and go and will definitely try that next time instead. There's also a lunch menu with local and Western options, and the staff is kind and knowledgeable."
Joana Denelle
"This cafe is quite large, part of a chain of stores that sells bakery goods, gelato and sorbet and well as breakfast, lunch and dinner items. The menu is primarily western with a few local dishes. We took a large group here and they dealt well with us. It would benefit from having some more healthier options."

The Best Places to Eat in Siem Reap, Cambodia
It may seem unbelievable now, given the pace of Siem Reap’s evolution, but reliably great coffee and other deli and bakery staples were tough to find before Blue Pumpkin set up shop near the turn of the millennium. Success may have changed the venture—it now has a number of outlets in Siem Reap, and several more in Phnom Penh—but the philosophy of serving simple but high-quality Asian and Western dishes remains intact. Menu highlights include generously proportioned breakfasts and sandwiches, decadent cakes, famous yogurt shakes, and a wide selection of homemade ice creams and sorbets.
A guide to Siem Reap, Cambodia
Wind down on Pub Street, Siem Reap’s center of cool, for a hearty lunch at French bakery and café Blue Pumpkin, a large, sunny joint known for cakes, sorbets, and ice creams. Try the Cambodian kuthiew, a traditional white noodle soup with pork or chicken, as you lounge on couches on the upper floor. Blue Pumpkin also serves delicious steaks, burgers, and pastas.

Blue Pumpkin Cafe Just like the almonds generously sprinkled atop their almond croissants ($1.40), Blue Pumpkin Cafes are everywhere, serving a wide range of bread, pastries, sandwiches and cakes. Strip away the restaurant, ice creamery and everything else that Blue Pumpkin has become in its 14-year existence and you are left with a French-style bakery that sells fresh bread without any extra sugar, croissants that melt in your mouth and pre-made sandwiches, like the ham and cheese ($3), that hit the spot. Upstairs you have a very modern white lounge with huge comfortable bed/sofas. It's a great place for you to cool down if you want to escape the hot weather!. I don't like minimalistic (soul-less) interior, but I actually enjoyed the trendy, minimalistic look of the 2nd floor (or maybe I liked the air-con...hmmm...not sure!)
