What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Diners rave about Khmer Kitchen Restaurant for its authentic and delicious Cambodian cuisine, generous portions, and reasonable prices. Its prime location near Pub Street and the Old Market makes it a convenient choice. While some find it slightly pricier than local street food, the quality of food and overall dining experience are consistently praised.
"We had a sweet and sour and a ginger dish which were delicious. The dpringrolls were also tasty but like everywhere so incredibly hot that we almost had to eat them as dessert. 😁 Very inviting place without pushy waiters who let you quietly look at the menu on the street side."
Patrick De Smedt
"First meal in Siem Reap. Chose their amok and for protein, went for pork instead of the usual fish. Price wise, definitely more expensive than the other restaurants I visited later in my trip but food, service and ambience are fantastic. Can't fault the price cos of the restaurant's location which is near Pub Street
The broth was extremely wholesome and hearty. Not spicy at all but very creamy and coconuty and milky. There were decent amounts of pork and other vegetables which kinda balances out the coconut taste.
Highly recommended for a proper restaurant to have Cambodian food but there are cheaper alternatives slightly further away."
Jennifer Wan (JWan)
"We went here on our first day before visiting the old market, which is right across the street. The food was delicious, and if you want an authentic khmer meal this is a good place to try. We had the amok, fresh spring rolls, as well as deep fried spring rolls. We also had fresh coconut juice.
The restaurant is also located near pub street and a few minutes walk from the Riverside night market, so after your meal you can get some shopping and exploring done easily."

The three branches of Khmer Kitchen (both on and adjacent to Pub Street, see www.khmerkitchens.com for details) are good places to sample the local cuisine, as the name suggests, with authentic flavours at reasonable prices. The same can equally be said of the nearby Genevieve’s (Sok San Road, +855 16 984 892) and Amok (Between The Passage and Old Market, Street 9, +855 63 966 441); the former also offers some Western dishes while the latter’s menu features a tasting platter of its namesake dish, a creamy coconut-based curry, with four different varieties that is well worth sampling.

I had the worst case of food poisoning I’ve ever had from here… it knocked me out for a whole day!. I had the Chicken Amok curry and it tasted a bit ‘odd’… so my own fault for eating it I guess. But it’s a busy place, in a good spot on the corner opposite the old market, great for people watching.
