I had the worst case of food poisoning I’ve ever had from here… it knocked me out for a whole day!. I had the Chicken Amok curry and it tasted a bit ‘odd’… so my own fault for eating it I guess. But it’s a busy place, in a good spot on the corner opposite the old market, great for people watching.

For slightly upscale experience try Khmer Kitchen (The Alley, 961454) which offers simple Khmer food at low prices, Angkor Palm (Pithnou Street, 761436) with a great authentically Khmer menu at a good price, and Cambodian BBQ (The Alley, 965 407) for tasty Khmer barbecues with a panoply of meats.

Khmer Kitchen Restaurant is a place you should go to try home-styled Khmer cuisine. Each dish goes for $4USD and there’s just wholesome, “mum’s taste” in every dish. Take for instance, the pork ribs were well marinated and had a slight bite to it with most of the meat coming off its bone easily.
