What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Church St. Taphouse offers a lively atmosphere and a great selection of craft beverages. While many praise the accommodating staff and diverse menu options, especially for dietary needs, some reviews indicate a recent decline in food quality and inconsistent service. The patio is a significant draw, providing a pleasant space to enjoy drinks and meals.
"We came here for a nice family dinner while on vacation.
We were seated quickly and the place was somewhat busy but had a nice atmosphere. People were talking and music was playing but it was not too loud so it was still easy to talk amongst ourselves.
For drinks we ordered a Red Roof Cider, Rotator Cider, Holmes Lager all of which were on tap and our youngest son (17) had a apple/pear juice drink. All the drinks were very refreshing and were brought out quickly.
My wife ordered the Miso Salmon Burger which she said was delicious. Both our sons ordered Chicken Strips with Poutine instead of fries, one with Teriyaki sauce and Honey Mustard Dip and the other with Buffalo sauce and Ranch Dip. They demolished their dinners. I ordered the Shawarma Bowl which had some very nice flavours with a yummy yogurt sauce and it was amazing!
For dessert we shared a Chocolate Cake and Passionfruit Tart among the 4 of us. The desserts were the perfect way to finish off our lovely dinner!
The service and atmosphere were great so we would eat here again and recommend it to anyone else!"

"Recently on a 1-week vacation in Comox and we kept going back to this one same restaurant. Why? My kids have food allergies and they did a fantastic job accommodating and being cautious to ensure safety. The food was delicious! We loved trying so many great choices on the menu. The food always came in a very timely manner. The staff were super kind, awesome and helpful. Everything shuts down early and they stay open to serve the need of the community. Gold star for this restaurant!! And that comes from someone who’s worked a lot in hospitality."

"Variety of craft beers served ice cold. Very flavourful ginger beef bowl accompanied by a seasonal blueberry salad. A comfortable atmosphere with patio access. Attentive staff who all made an effort to connect during our visit. A very enjoyable experience and a delicious meal for two. Check out the calendar as there are themed nights and independent music artists on any given night."
