Reviews Summary

The Drunken Goat Taverna is celebrated for its delicious Greek fusion cuisine, generous portions, and cozy atmosphere with a classic rock vibe. While many praise the flavorful dishes like souvlaki and the appetizer platters, some diners have noted issues with air conditioning and mosquitoes. It's also important to remember that the restaurant is cash only and may not be the best choice for families with young children.

"Food was great! Had the chicken souvlaki meal and it was delicious! They weren’t shy with the sauce either! Calamari tasted great as well! Definitely recommend! Server was great, however no A/C and the doors were open to the indoor dining area so lots of mosquitos unfortunately. Overall, really great place to eat at when in Dawson!"

Zanna H

"Quirky little Greek restaurant. Cash only. Had a lamb Gyro with side Greek salad and DW had a chicken wrap. Taziaki sauce was delicious as was the food. Food came out quick-reasonably priced."

David T. Wilber

"Got there early enough to nab a table out on the front porch. Had the ribs and souvlaki. Both delicious! Rib meet was falling off the bone. Good portions too. Also loved their way of doing potatoes, boiled then fried (I think) for a half potatoe you could pick up and bit through the Krispy outside. Had a great beer too. Happy a local recommend Drunken Goat."

Relaxing and poking around Dawson City – The ExploreNorth Blog

We went back into Dawson Tuesday night, for a fabulous dinner at our favourite restaurant, The Drunken Goat Taverna. We shared the Poikilia, which is an assortment of Greek specialities – lamb chops, Greek style ribs, chicken breast, garides, spanakopita, tiropita, pita bread with feta dip, and a Greek salad. It’s a bit spendy at $77.95 (which seems like a huge increase since the last time we had it), but it’s best as a meal for 4, so we took plenty of leftovers back to the RV!

Dawson City, Yukon: A guide to the town that time forgot

Those sticking around town will want to head to the Drunken Goat, a fantastic Greek restaurant that recently opened a huge outdoor patio. The Aurora Inn just down the street is another top pick, as its Swiss owners have created a rich menu laden with hearty dishes such as breaded schnitzels and BBQ ribs, with the option to slather them in sauces like red wine gravy sauce. Pair a dish with a great bottle of wine, and it would be easy to spend the entire night there!

Dawson City under the Midnight Sun: a strangely local guide

It’s a close-run race but best restaurant option here goes to curiously named Drunken Goat Taverna. Owner Tony channels an Aegean Sea vibe with wall-length murals of Lesbos Island and plenty of airy seating options in the restaurant, bar (Billy Goats) and undercover patio out back, where local soloists amplify the atmosphere in the evenings. The paidakia (marinated charbroiled spring lamb chops) is what most people seem to bang their fists on the table for.
