Reviews Summary

The Palate is praised for its creative, beautifully presented, and flavorful dishes, with many highlighting the Korean BBQ tacos and the excellent wine list. Service is consistently described as friendly and attentive. While most reviews are overwhelmingly positive, a few diners have found some dishes to be underwhelming or overpriced.

"I've lived in Fredericton for 5 years and have passed by this restaurant on several occasions without ever having stopped in. My wife finally convinced me to make a reservation for my birthday dinner with friends and I must say WOW, I was impressed.

Don't be fooled by its demure setting, this restaurant serves up some visually appealing, well crafted and delicious dishes. We started with a few appetizers including a shredded duck tostada as well as a sliced and braised pork belly...so tasty. My wife ordered the steak and potatoes while I selected to Coq au Vin.

Might I say this may well be the best restaurant, fine dining at least. that I have yet to try in Fredericton. Its obvious that the dishes were carefully prepared with both thought and care and the final delivery was visually stunning. Great food, great menu, fantastic service...Strongly recommend!

PS - Don't skip on the desserts! My English Sticky Toffee was delish!"

"I read the reviews as to what to get in Fredricton as I was passing through for the night. It sounded like a good place. I ordered the club based on the staff members advice. It was probably the most unattractive, tasteless, smallest portion, food item I have ever in my life gotten. It was almost $20 and the chicken was dry and chewy and it was literally two pieces of bread slapped together. You should be ashamed of yourself for selling that. Also the atmosphere seemed really unhappy and musty. I would say to never go there."

Sandy Willett (etherialle)

"The food here was great a lot better than I was expecting to be honest.

I had a Mitaki mushroom dish that was delicious. The only thing I found was that there wasn’t enough of it with it being a strictly vegetarian dish. It just felt like it needed more.

I tried my friends fish as well and it was fantastic. Everything was plated so beautifully.

The service was great. I did find that the interior was A little plain. They could use some better decor to match the beautiful plating."

From the colorful, spacious interior, hung with local art, the open kitchen reveals enthusiastic chefs in action, preparing the interesting combinations of flavors, as in the lemon meringue salmon, with lemon, Parmesan, and chive aioli; or New York–style steak with a sriracha caramel glaze. The vegetarian option might be an oriental treatment of sautéed vegetables, tofu, and noodles, while lunch focuses on creative sandwiches, panini, stir-fries, and naan pizzas; brunch is served on Saturday.
