It began humbly as a food truck at the Kelowna Farmer’s Market, and, because of its popularity, it has morphed into a brick and mortar located in an industrial area of Kelowna’s North End. His Market Breakfast Wrap comes with house-cured bacon, aged cheddar, and fresh salsa baked in a flour tortilla.

The market is open year-round, but during the summer peak season more booths are selling a variety of global eats, organic meats, and fruity preserves.

Abundant green spaces are connected by biking trails and paths from Knox Mountain to the Mission Creek Greenway. Mission Creek Greenway is one of the Okanagan’s most accessible wilderness paths as it winds along Mission Creek. Starting at Lakeshore Rd, it extends all the way to just below Gallaghers Canyon in East Kelowna.

I got into coffee roasting after visiting coffee plantations in Thailand in 2016. There, on a whim, I purchased a bag of green coffee to see what kind of rabbit hole I could get myself into. Being a hands-on kinda guy I started playing around with the idea of building my own coffee roasters in my workshop.

Kelowna Farmers Market, located just to the east of Downtown Kelowna, is a bustling destination all year round. Open Wednesday and Saturday mornings, it’s the best place to pick up some local food, including fresh fruit and vegetables, flowers, plants, cheeses, honey and other artisanal goodies.

Hot food service and many of the same organized festivals and events found at the Kelowna Farmers’ and Crafters’ Market can be enjoyed here as well. This is a quieter alternative (or additional!) opportunity for local crafters, bakers, farmers, and Kelowna’s residents and visitors to connect.

Kelowna Farmers Market: Open Wednesday and Saturday (8-1pm April 7-November 3) this is a must see if you’re in Kelowna!. Incredible local farmers, niche foods, clothes, crafts and food trucks (try the potatoes, lemonade and ice cream bars) come together to show off our local food scene.

My favourite time of year to visit the farmers’ market – the tourists are gone, the stone fruits are just perfect and the tomatoes come in plenty of colours. I walked away with peaches, plums, apricots, and a knitted hat for little man in celebration of the football season.

If the market isn’t going on I’d stop by Nature’s Fare, Urban Fare, or Choices to grab a few things or a quick picnic lunch. For fresh produce Paynter’s U-Pick is always a great time with the kids – they even have picnic tables and ice cream for the kids (big and small:).
