Reviews Summary
Kuma Yama is celebrated for its fresh, beautifully plated sushi and flavorful ramen, offering a welcome alternative to typical ski resort fare. Diners praise the cozy ambiance and friendly service, though some note that portions can be on the smaller side and service speed can vary. The stunning mountain views are an added bonus to the unique dining experience.
"Honestly, Kuna Yama was such a vibe. The place feels modern and cozy, and the food? So good. I had sushi that was super fresh, beautifully plated, and just hit the spot. You can tell they put care into every little detail, from how the food looks to how it tastes.
It’s the kind of spot where you want to take your time—chill atmosphere, great service, and everything just flows. Definitely one of those places you don’t expect to find in the middle of the mountains, but you’re so glad you did.
If you’re ever in Banff and want something a little more refined but still laid-back, this is it."

"The portion of food is small in general so it would be much more expensive if we were hungry. The BBQ pork donburi and smoked salmon salad tasted good. The beef tataki was overcooked though."
Yuchi Zhang
"Great Ramen and awesome service! I definitely recommend this place if you’re looking for something different during a fun ski day. Many choices of freshly prepared sushi and ramen. And the amazing view over the mountain is a bonus!"
