What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
The Knot Pub is celebrated for its incredibly unique and charming nautical atmosphere, transporting diners to a different era. Many rave about the delicious homemade fare, particularly the fresh seafood options and classic pub grub, while also appreciating the extensive beer selection and friendly service. However, some patrons have experienced significant wait times for their food, and a few have noted inconsistency in meal quality and service during peak periods.
"Excellent local place with an incredibly pleasant atmosphere. Good implementation of bar counters and separated corners with tables. There are a couple of slot machines (I don't know how they work just saw them here). The workers are very friendly, the prices are normal. The food is very tasty. We ordered Lobster Linguini & "Hell Bay" beer for me. And Bacon Scallops with fries, Zucchini sticks & Cranberries juice for my wife. Everything was very tasty. The only thing I can complain here is a wait time(we have waited an hour for our order), but to be true, it was many people here, so they probably were in their "rush hour" when we came here."

"OMG the food tonight! We shared, one order of linguine with lobster and one of seared scallops with Caesar salad. Just LOOK at the number of scallops (and they were big)! Plus there was a ton of lobster in the pasta, the sauce was divine and the salad dressing was fresh and super garlicky. Lots of local craft beers and you could order a small 6oz glass for only $4 to try them. The vibe was very cool, place was packed with lots of very friendly locals and tourists, everyone chatty, super fun. Super friendly staff, Michelle was lovely and had excellent recommendations for both food and drink.
Another ⭐️⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️ meal

"Charming as hell. We were very pleased with the wide selection of local craft beer, and the food was great - had the lobster roll, which was on special, and the fish cakes. Sometimes old pubs feel too dark and dank and sticky for my liking, but this place was none of those!"

Two Days in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia
The Knot Pub // an adorable woodsy pub that literally looks like it came from a fairytale!. We enjoyed dinner here on our first night in town and were rather pleased with the meal. To start, we shared chicken wings tossed in Franks with blue cheese dip, and for mains I had the Char Burger with fries, while Fiancé had the Philly Cheesesteak; both were really very good.

You’ll see the Knot Pub right in front of you on the other side of the street. After crossing Dufferin, turn left (unless the pub beckons) and walk about 20 m, then bear right into the car park of the old railway station. The Back Harbour trail starts here – it follows the route of the old rail line that once carried fish and freight to and from Halifax.
Best Chowder in Nova Scotia – Eat This Town
The Knot Pub is my favourite pub in the world, and it is one of the few restaurants in Lunenburg that is open year-round. It’s where the locals go, and for good reason; it’s got some of the best pub food around and the vibes are unmatched. They make a really nice fish chowder, which is distinct from seafood chowder which can be thicker and/or creamier.
