Reviews Summary

The Wilcox Gastropub receives mixed reviews, with many praising its unique historic ambiance and creative cocktails. While some diners rave about dishes like the lobster poutine and signature burger, others find the food inconsistent, with some portions being small for the price. Service is generally described as friendly, though occasional inattentiveness is noted.

"Very nice place to meet with friends or go with your family. The atmosphere is fantastic. It has two levels plus a terrace. Delicious appetizer options to share, an interesting variety on entrees and a lot of good drinks. The service is excellent and the location, at Hurontario and Eglinton, very convenient. I do recommend this Pub."

Jaime Fontanella Lauzardo

"Had my galentines here. Love the glass roof, the ambient lighting really adds to the cozy intimate atmosphere. Food portions were a little small for the price but still good nonetheless. Parking is a little confusing the first time when trying to park near the entrance. Service was friendly."

Sisi Apples

"Great atmosphere when seated closer to the bar area so you get the skylight above you. Staff is very friendly and attentive. You can tell the bartender is very passionate about the drinks he makes! Food is DELICIOUS the burrata and coconut shrimp are my favourite I could eat 10 orders of them in one sitting! I did order them once where they were a little too crispy/burnt (which you can see in the picture with the oysters), and the Caesar salad had a bit too much of a bitter flavour I assume from the radicchio which I wasn’t a fan of personally. I’ve also tried the KFC, cauliflower fritters, pork belly sliders which are all great! Parking is a little annoying as there is not really any parking right next to the restaurant and you pass by the garbage area when entering."

The Wilcox Gastropub is located on the corner of Hurontario and Eglinton and is situated in the Wilcox House – one of Mississauga’s oldest Heritage Homes which features Greek and Gothic detailing and was built by Amos and Charles Wilcox in 1850. In a place that serves everything from pork sliders to poutine, Scotch egg, ceviche, cassava frites, braised short ribs, an18oz bone-in rib eye steak and confit of duck leg I’m going straight to the burger. This is one of their signature dishes here called The Wilcox Burger and it didn’t disappoint.
