What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Jun I is highly praised for its outstandingly fresh and delicious sushi, with many calling it some of the best in Montreal. Diners appreciate the unique fusion of Japanese and French flavors and the elegant ambiance. However, some patrons have experienced slow and disorganized service, with extended wait times, and find the portion sizes small relative to the premium pricing. Despite these drawbacks, the quality of the food often makes up for the experience.
"Jun I offers a large variety of amazing and delicious sushi. I recommand ordering from the Tobuketsumaki section of the menu as it represents their specialty.
The salle à manger section is calm and quiet making it the perfect ambiance for a date night.
The alcohol menu offers a wide selection of wine, saké, beers ans cocktails."

"The food was excellent—no complaints there. However, the service left a lot to be desired. We waited over an hour for our meals and ended up spending nearly four hours at the restaurant. For a group of six, the timing was off—some of us received our food while others were still waiting. It definitely affected the overall experience. That said, the restaurant had a great vibe, and the food was truly worth the wait."

"We tried this restaurant with high expectations—and a bill to match (over $100 per person). We ordered the Sushi Moriawase, which came beautifully presented and included some nicely prepared nigiri and a standout hand roll—light, fresh, and well-balanced in flavor. Definitely one of the highlights.
However, the portion was quite small, and even after adding some à la carte sushi (like a crab one that sadly missed the mark), we left still feeling hungry and ended up grabbing more food afterward. For the price, we expected not only high quality (which was just decent) but also a more satisfying experience overall. If you order the Omakase along with à la carte sushi, I think you might leave satisfied.
The service and ambiance were okay."

Ivy Lerner-Frank, @ivylernerfrank: “I'm incredibly attached to my Little Italy neighbourhood. We've got a rotation going of San Gennaro, Pumpui/Pichai, Bar St-Denis, Impasto-Gema, Kahera, coffee at Caron, summer sandwiches in the market (Roxy!) and Mon Lapin for special occasions. The opening of Even Coffee in the old Dispatch location has been great; the baristas are really skilled (and kind); their specialty coffee is consistently good.
