Reviews Summary

Shaw Cafe & Wine Bar is praised for its stunning floral patio ambiance, making it a picturesque spot to relax and enjoy the surroundings. While many appreciate the friendly service and the unique Niagara ice wine selection, some diners have noted inconsistencies in food quality and concerns about the interior's cleanliness. The restaurant's prime location is a definite draw, but potential visitors should be aware of occasional service issues and specific accessibility limitations.

"Beautiful spot with great atmosphere and good service. We ordered the charcuterie and cheese board with wine—food was okay, nothing mind-blowing, but still enjoyable. The setting definitely made the experience special. Would come back for the vibe and wine alone - which we did actually 🤗"

Nyoman Yesi Y. (Yesi)

"The patio here is absolutely gorgeous — flowers, sunshine, and a prime spot right in the heart of Niagara-on-the-Lake. Honestly, it’s worth visiting just to soak up the atmosphere and watch the world go by.

The food was fine, nothing bad at all, just not as memorable as some of the other local spots. Same with the service — friendly but a bit slow, though it could’ve just been the timing we went.

If you’re looking for a place where the patio is the main course and everything else is the side dish, Shaw Café fits the bill perfectly."

Jon Hodge

"I had the Ham and Brie Sandwich with Sweet Potato fries, and the Orange, Passion drink. They were delicious and the service was great. I love the flowers and the rustic feel of the restaurant. The only qualm was the lack of fans on the outside to help alleviate the summer heat."

Your best bet is probably a place that accepts reservations. We loved the deck at the Queens Landing, where we had a spectacular meal on a Saturday night. There are two menus - one from the dining room and the other is a "bar" menu.

that cater thoughtfully to gluten-free needs, making it a delightful spot for those seeking safe and flavorful gluten-free fare. Jumped in out of the rain about 6:30pm tonight June 24. I tend to only take time for the positive reviews but it’s worth noting that the young man who served us, sandy blonde hair, was abruptly rude, especially for what little time he spent at our table.

Cherry Blossoms and Chimney Cakes at Niagara-on-the-Lake

After exploring the downtown area, we ate a light lunch on the rooftop balcony of the Shaw Cafe, overlooking the bustling and historic Queen Street. Our server suggested we try a flight of ice wine, which is a regional speciality. Ice wine, as the name might imply, is a dessert wine produced from grapes that have frozen while still on the vine.
