Reviews Summary

Cocotte Bistro offers a charming Parisian-inspired atmosphere with visually appealing dishes and attentive service, particularly praised by those who enjoyed the ambiance and wine pairings. However, some diners found the food to be just 'okay' and noted inconsistencies in service and seasoning, suggesting room for improvement.

"⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
An Unforgettable Dining Experience at Cocotte

From the moment we walked in, Cocotte delivered on every front. The atmosphere was absolutely amazing — warm, inviting, and beautifully designed to elevate the dining experience. The food? Simply exquisite. Every dish was a work of art both in presentation and flavor. You can tell there’s passion behind every plate.

The wine selection was outstanding, perfectly curated to complement the menu. But what truly took our evening to the next level was the exceptional service, especially from our waitress Milena. She was absolutely incredible — knowledgeable, personable, and spot-on with her food and wine pairing recommendations. She made us feel genuinely welcomed and cared for throughout the night.

This is easily one of my top five restaurants, and we left already planning our next visit. If you're in the area, do not miss this place — Cocotte is a gem. Highly recommended!"

"Go here just for the vibes. Perfectly blends upscale with casual.

The portions were generous and everything looked great. The place also felt very cozy yet posh. The service was friendly but you can tell they are juggling a lot, considering the large space.

Got the smoked salmon eggs benedict. Only critiques were that the potatoes were very bland. The peach and rose mimosa had no peach or rose flavour."

Stella Chen

"A cute and cozy spot with a nice selection of French-inspired dishes with lovely presentation. Good list of mimosa. On Saturday they don’t serve lunch menu at 12:30, so we proceed with the brunch menu which was good for adults but limited for kids. The food is good overall, though not quite amazing. The croque madame had quality ham, though the cheese and sauce could have used more flavor. The avocado toast was fresh and tasty, and the French fries were excellent. The kids’ French toast had good flavor but was a little soggy. In general, it’s a charming place near Parliament Hill, worth a visit for the atmosphere, but the food still has room for improvement."

Inside the Metcalfe Hotel you’ll find the European inspired Cocotte Bistro. Chef Stephen Lasalle is no longer there and gone too is his green bean caesar salad which I rated amongst the best things I’ve eaten this year. You’ll still want to go because the food and ambience is so very inviting and the wines are inspired and reasonably priced.
