Reviews Summary

Honō Izakaya is widely praised for its delicious, creative Japanese fusion dishes, especially the acclaimed okonomiyaki and fresh sashimi. Diners love the vibrant atmosphere, friendly and attentive service, and extensive drink menu. While the food is mostly excellent, a few reviews noted that one dish was less flavorful than others. The cozy ambiance and popular dishes make it a must-visit.

"Love everything about this place: food is absolutely delicious, cocktails are profesh 👌🏼 It was a little bit too warm inside, maybe it’s just my preference but it would be good to have a bit of a airflow circulating especially at the bar closer to the kitchen. But all and all the experience was fantastic."

Natallia K

"Cozy little place with a good vibe.

The service is friendly and takes the time to present you the dishes served. Their recommendations look to be on-point too. One critique I would give is the menu of the moment. There wasn't any explanation or promotion of it. I happened to be sitted next to the chalk board that had it written so asked about it or I would have missed it.

The cuisine is more fusion than traditional Izakaya, but the flavor is great. Out of the 5 dishes I ordered, only one was lacking a bit of flavor compared to the others that are oozing umami."

Bao Le

"Really great spot. Busy busy. Make a reservation. Small delicious plates. Friendly staff, great cocktails.

Salmon was amazing. Edamame was amazing, though it was a bit messy to eat.

Sake flight was very fun and interesting. Great way to venture out into different sake.

Old fashioned, and whiskey was a good choice.

We were in Quebec city for one week and we went twice it was so good."

Restaurants in Quebec City

Small dishes are served in the purest tradition of izakayas (Japanese taverns) in a venue that's flooded with light and minimally decorated with birch and green plants. On the menu are just classics: yakitori (mini skewers), sashimi, okonomiyaki (savory pancakes), and dumplings, as well as a tataki that changes daily. The cocktails are as pretty as they are tasty (case in point with the Japanese Eyeball), but the real star here is the list of imported sake.
