Reviews Summary
L'Antiquaire Buffet is a beloved Quebec City institution known for its generous portions of classic Canadian comfort food and friendly service. Diners rave about the authentic Quebecois dishes and satisfying breakfast options. While the popularity often leads to long waits, the hearty meals and welcoming atmosphere make it a worthwhile experience for many.
"Well worth the wait! We arrived near the end of the lunch rush and waited about 15 minutes to be seated. A local recommended this restaurant and we were not disappointed. A great variety of local food and everything we tried was delicious.
We were also impressed by the teamwork between cooks and servers. Thirteen people working in a small area and everyone worked so well together!"

"We walked by this restaurant just a few steps from our hotel and saw a huge line. At first we went walking to try and find something else but returned and got in line and it moved quite fast! The coffee was included with our meal and the dishes we ordered were fantastic. The breakfast poutine was so tasty and the crepes hit the spot. You must order the caramel and strawberry jam! Oh and when we saw one of the servers showing off the strawberry shortcake we had to order it…..
Definitely recommend and don’t let the line deter you, it’s worth the wait!"

"Busy Old Quebec breakfast spot
There’s almost always a line outside, which shows how popular this place is. We came for breakfast — portions were hearty, and the food was comforting in a traditional Quebecois style. Drinks were limited (mainly coffee and juice). Staff was courteous but clearly very busy, so there wasn’t much time for small talk or personal touches. The floor was greasy and slippery, so be careful on rainy days.
It’s a good stop if you’re nearby, but honestly not worth waiting more than 10 minutes in line. Try coming early in the morning before the rush for a smoother experience."
