What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Restaurant La Cuisine is praised for its innovative French cuisine and warm ambiance, with many highlighting dishes like elk steak and duck breast. However, some diners have experienced inconsistencies in service, with long waits between courses and occasional issues with food preparation, such as tough steaks or cold vegetables. Despite these drawbacks, the restaurant remains a popular choice for its unique flavors and overall dining experience.
"Yummy food, clean place and cozy atmosphere. Theres a bit of wait for your meal but still satisfied when the food arrives."

"Wanted to try a fancier restaurant in Saguenay.
Service- My friend and I waited 45 minutes for our main dishes after our appetizers.. NOT ok.
I was extremely disappointed with that.
Our waitress was professional, nice.
Food- I got the “Fondue aux Fromages” as an appetizer. Not what I expected and all, I don’t like their take on fondue. And it was very mid. Definitely overpriced.
I got the “Contre-Filet de bœuf highland” for my main dish. It was pretty good! Cooked to the temperature I ordered. The sauce on the plate went well with everything else. Parsnip purée was good, however, it was cold rather than room temperature/warm. Carrot was cooked well, it wasn’t hard to cut. I didn’t care for the other vegetables personally.
Cocktail- I forget what the full name was but “D’avril” is in the name. The cocktail was well made, strong, good and easy to drink!
Dessert- classic crème brûlée. Yummy.
Due to the wait for my meal alone, I wouldn’t return here. I also think they are a bit overpriced."

"Definitely worth visiting! Bone marrow and sweetbread was delicious, as was the boudin. Good wines. Attentive service. Just missed the mark with the fried shrimp balls, but everything else is up to par. Would visit again!"

Restaurants in Port Saguenay
World cuisines influence chefs who are well-versed in French techniques and fond of using local ingredients. Thai cuisine inspires five-spice chicken with cashew nuts, rice noodles, vegetables, and sweet chili sauce; a taste of Italy is clearly evident in the veal flank with mushrooms, truffle oil, and Parmesan risotto. Giant scallops sautéed in garlic cream and sweet vanilla salt feel contemporary and eclectic alongside sweet potatoes and sautéed seasonal vegetables.
