For a nightcap, head to the Mallard Lounge at the iconic Fairmont Chateau Whistler, which just unveiled their very own Blackcomb Gin. The bar showcases its unique notes in a cocktail called Northern Soul, a smooth, citrusy tipple that will draw out the cedar tips and local hops in the gin. Every sip is meant to remind you of the great outdoors.

As a caveat, this isn’t about the best bar for the après party scene that you see on social with loud bass, sparklers, and people dancing on tables – if you’re looking for that, you’re looking for the Longhorn. If you’re looking for a cozy space filled with a roaring wood fireplace, live music, giant plush leather chairs and an overall mountain chalet vibe, you’re looking for the Mallard Lounge in the Fairmont Chateau. There are giant floor to ceiling windows where you can watch the snow falling gently to the ground and there’s a live musician to help dial in relaxing luxe vibes.

Why: Aside from the Fairmont Chateau Whistler’s Mallard Lounge being one of my favourite spots in town (it’s super pet-friendly and there is always a cute puppy to snuggle), I’d never encountered a warm pineapple drink before, and this one is the bomb!. Think a kinda hot take on a Tiki drink, with a house-made five spice syrup, a healthy glug of Bacardi 8, fresh pineapple juice topped with hot water and a dehydrated pineapple garnish, that rehydrates into a chewy, tasty snack as you dunk it. This is super sweet, with just the right touch of rum and spice.

Mallard Lounge | Located in the Fairmont Hotel in the Upper Village, the Mallard Lounge has a great ambience, large windows, fireplaces, live music and an awesome vegetarian menu. From vegetarian pates with crispy lentils and taro root chips to fried artichoke sandwiches with eggplant bacon, it’s hard to choose what to order. The cocktails are fabulous as well – A Duck in the Fog comes in a little lantern carrier and when you open the door smoke swirls out from around the cocktail, revealing your beverage and making you the envy of all the other tables.

The Firerock Lounge at The Westin gives you the choice of curling up fireside indoors or outdoors with your date and favourite wine. If you’re looking for an elevated après experience, a few ‘must try’ destinations would be the Mallard Lounge at the base of Blackcomb, Cure Lounge at Nita Lake Lodge in Creekside and Joey Fortes in the heart of Whistler Village. All three options have amazing après deals on food & beverages, delicious cocktail menus, and the Mallard often has live music!

Fairmont Fridays at the Mallard Lounge – During the summer months, the Mallard Lounge at the Fairmont Chateau Whistler hosts Fairmont Fridays. Enjoy live music, a curated menu of discounted drinks and bites to eat in a cosy and luxurious lounge setting. Choose to relax on the comfy armchairs inside or outside on the lawn overlooking the mountains.

Technically not a pub, the Mallard is located in the Fairmont Whistler and is a super chill lounge that has incredible (but expensive drinks), live music and tasty snacks. Step inside the Fairmont Chateau Whistler at the base of Blackcomb Mountain and cozy up in the hotel lounge. At night, The Mallard Lounge offers seasonal live music, tasty food and an excellent selection of drinks.

My picks for fancy would be the Fairmont’s Mallard Lounge and Sidecut at the Four Seasons. Both have reassuringly plump lists covering everything from classics to twists through to hot, spiked beverages. Both have the space for vast back bars and both have thoroughly knowledgeable staff able to whip up your top tipple.

After a full day on the slopes, it’s time to unwind at the Mallard Lounge inside the Fairmont Chateau Whistler. You can choose to relax indoors by the crackling fire or step outside to the cozy firepits, surrounded by mountain views. The alpine atmosphere sets the perfect tone for reflecting on the day.

Nestled at the base of Blackcomb Mountain and located in the Fairmont, the Mallarge Lounge has a fantastic happy hour from 5 – 7 pm every Friday. Fairmont Fridays are a first-come, first-served walk-in basis offering $6 beers, $7 wines, $8 cocktails and $9 appies. So get in quick as it is trendy.

A local favorite for warmers, martinis and views, this lounge has a full menu and seasonal live entertainment. A chocolate bar also helps this nightlife spot stand out. Chocolate bar items include dark chocolate, dried apricot and cherry milk chocolate, and marbled milk and white with vanilla.

This very grown-up room in the swank Fairmont Chateau Whistler is country club all the way, with plush sofas and club chairs, a big fireplace, and a menu of classic cocktails, Scotch, wine, and "alpine warmers" (including flaming coffee). Outside, three fire pits keep things toasty…

The Mallard Lounge at Chateau Whistler may be a bit pricey for dinner, but this spot is known for its affordable and delicious desserts. Choose from a loaded banana fudge sundae, to a millionaire's chocolate cake and a pumpkin pecan cheesecake - all $16 each.

Whistler’s food scene continues to grow, and new spots are always popping up. Lorette Brasserie is one of the most anticipated openings this year, promising a fresh take on French-Canadian cuisine in the North Village. Keep an eye out for its spring launch.

During the winter you can literally ski right up to The Mallard Lounge in the Chateau Fairmont Whistler and settle in by the fire pits for an alpine warmer, one of their signature après-ski bevvies. Or relax inside the Lounge between 2 p.m.

The Mallard Lounge, located in the Fairmont, has hot cocktails that will warm you up in more ways than one. We recommend the Red and White Coco for lovers of coconut. This is a great place to relax and chat apre`s ski or before dinner.

The guys at Fairmont Chateau Whistler do not shy away from experimentation. Their latest attraction is their smoking machine, which they’ll use for any cocktail of your choice!. Fancy a smoked margarita – they’ll make one.

The Mallard Lounge, hosted at the Fairmont Chateau Whistler, is also ideal for elegant après, boasting mountain views and a cosy log fire along with a fabulous array of signature drinks and cocktails as well as live music.

Celebrate your day in the mountains with on-mountain après-ski bars like Umbrella Bar. In the spring they open the top up on nice days so you can get a tan with a view. It’s a must-visit in spring.

Also at the Blackcomb base area, the Mallard Lounge and Terrace (located in the Fairmont Chateau Whistler) is a relaxed and sophisticated spot for martinis and other après drinks.

We also loved The super-cozy Mallard Lounge at The Fairmont Chateau – as they often have live music and their cocktails are excellent!

Not only are they known for their infamous martinis, but their ingredients are so fresh you’d swear they grew them on the roof.

Other spots I was recommended but didn’t get to include: the Mallard Cocktail Lounge, Arazi, Bear Foot, and Bar Oso.
