What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
The Mallard Lounge is celebrated for its exceptionally cozy and stylish mountain chalet ambiance, complemented by excellent service and great live music. While many dishes receive high praise, including nachos and prime rib dip, some guests found the value comparable to other establishments. The cocktail presentation and unique drink creations are consistently highlighted as a major draw.
"A gorgeous bar that gives you a warm, cosy feeling every time you walk past. With fireplaces, snowy views through the windows, and classic wooden décor, it’s the perfect place to unwind. If you’re feeling brave enough for the cold, there are fire pits outside to keep you warm.
It’s almost always bustling with live music on some evenings, making it a great spot to relax after a day of skiing.
The cocktails were excellent, and as always, the service was friendly and attentive.
I’d skip the pizza though. We struggled to finish it. It wasn’t necessarily bad, as even a bad pizza is still pretty good, but I have no doubt there are more satisfying options on the menu. A pizza is only as good as its base, and this one had a crust that felt more like a ready-made version than a proper stone-baked Italian dough."

"Food is ok. I would say lower value than Cactus Club, but similar quality. Definitely not worth the spend. The setting is beautiful though and the staff is lovely. They sometimes have live music which is a nice bonus. I only recommend coming here if you’re staying at the hotel and you’re too lazy to go into the city."

"Loved the atmosphere here—super cozy and stylish, perfect spot to unwind. The live performer was amazing and really made the night special. Grab a drink, sit back, and enjoy the music—you won’t be disappointed!"

5 Unmissable Apres Ski Cocktails in Whistler
Why: Aside from the Fairmont Chateau Whistler’s Mallard Lounge being one of my favourite spots in town (it’s super pet-friendly and there is always a cute puppy to snuggle), I’d never encountered a warm pineapple drink before, and this one is the bomb!. Think a kinda hot take on a Tiki drink, with a house-made five spice syrup, a healthy glug of Bacardi 8, fresh pineapple juice topped with hot water and a dehydrated pineapple garnish, that rehydrates into a chewy, tasty snack as you dunk it. This is super sweet, with just the right touch of rum and spice.

The cocktails are fabulous as well – A Duck in the Fog comes in a little lantern carrier and when you open the door smoke swirls out from around the cocktail, revealing your beverage and making you the envy of all the other tables.
