Portobello (Fairmont Chateau Whistler) ($$) - Portobello is a great dine in or grab and go option even if you’re not staying at the Fairmont Whistler. They’re open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and have some great offerings including; delicious gourmet donuts (they change everyday and usually sell out before lunch, so get there early for the best selections), carving station (try the mac and cheese, it’s so yummy!), full bar with local brews on tap, a cafe (all the espresso drinks you could ever need to fuel your day) then take your meal, treat or beverage outside to relax by a fire pit.

Inside Chateau Richmond is a top-tier restaurant that captivates customers with their mouth-watering gourmet treats accompanied by fragrant coffee. Portobello boasts a “family style” seating set in a rustic, modern interior that accentuates the stunning architecture designed by critically-acclaimed Calgary-based FRANK Architecture. The restaurant itself is already a feast to the eyes, what more of their visually pleasing dishes, carefully plated in ways that are meant to attract all gazes.

Portobello has established legendary status as the local spot to grab a coffee and a bite before the lifts open. Don’t fall victim to powder fever, it’s best to take your time and explore their made-to-order menu selection. Their breakfast offerings include heavenly Belgian waffles (go sweet with PB-J and nutella, or savory with smoked beef brisket or fried chicken), home-made bowls with freshly baked buttermilk biscuits, burritos and many other classics.

Located in the Fairmont Chateau Whistler, this cafeteria-style restaurant has an extensive lunch menu. Their specialty is their BBQ sandwiches (chicken, brisket and pulled pork options) and we can’t fail to mention their Perfectly Perfect Porchetta, which is, well, perfect. You can also make your own sandwich, which is a good option for those picky, I mean, discerning eaters.

Located in the Fairmont Hotel, Portobello is one of my favorite lunch spots and one of the best restaurant’s in Whistler. There is a fairly large patio section so you can sit outside and enjoy the sun if the weather is nice out. They serve high quality sandwiches with great meats – rotisserie chicken, pulled pork, BBQ chicken, brisket, etc. – in an animated open kitchen.

Located in the Upper Village, inside the gorgeous Fairmont Whistler, Portobello is a hidden gem for daytime dining. They have a large cozy room with plenty of large tables for groups and corners to tuck away in. Breakfast and lunch are the times to hit up Portobello, they have a huge amount of freshly baked pastries and construct your own breakfast bowls or sandwiches.

Order at the counter and then find a table and sit down – they don’t take reservations. Portobello offers a smokehouse dinner menu with hearty dishes like pulled pork, brisket, rotisserie chicken, ribs, sausage, chili, mac n cheese, biscuits & cornbread. We tried the chicken pot pies, and mac n cheese topped with pulled pork, and had a salad to share.

Located in the Chateau Fairmont Whistler, Portobello is a casual family-friendly restaurant with donuts that are to die for. Stop here for fuel before hitting the slopes and trails!. If you are in a bit of a hurry, take advantage of the Grab & Go section of the establishment complete with snack selections to munch on throughout the day.

A casual, family restaurant with warm country atmosphere and historic West Coast décor. Featuring an open kitchen concept, it has an energetic and interactive environment. A great eclectic menu selection offers soups & sandwiches, a salad garden, daily specials, pastas, pizza, seafood, vegetarian options...the variety is endless.

If you find yourself in the Upper Village, you have to try Portobello!. Besides having some of the best coffee and pastries, Portobello offer a tempting menu of legendary made-to-order sandwiches. They also feature a number of BBQ and smokehouse favourites alongside classics such as Grilled Cheese and Mac ‘n’ Cheese.

If our calculations are correct, that’s four hours of golf and two hours of skiing, which would certainly earn lunch at the Portobello located in the Fairmont complex. The delicious (and large) turkey sandwich and West Coast Chowder really hit the spot so we grabbed another sandwich to go for an active afternoon.

Off their breakfast menu, you can choose from their breakfast scrambler bowls, waffles, sandwiches, and house-made pastries.

Portobello offers a cute and clean interior and outdoor tables, providing a casual dining experience in an upscale and relaxed atmosphere. The breakfast bowl and mushrooms are delicious, especially with the fondue topping being mild and tasty. Additionally, the coffee and freshly baked muffins are exquisite.

Tucked away in the Farimont Chateau Whistler, this bakery is a hidden gem. From made-to-order sandwiches to coffee and pastries, Portobello is a great lunch time stop. Grab a cup of coffee and a signature maple bacon donut (does it get more Canadian?) and kick back after a day shredding Blackcomb mountain.

If you’re a porchetta sandwich lover like me, then I highly recommend visiting Portobello at Fairmont Whistler. Expect to stand in line, as this restaurant is very popular. Portobello has a cafeteria style, casual feel, with elevated food options like gourmet sandwiches and pastries.

We recommend you pack a Portobello picnic to dine al fresco before the show. Getting there is easy; our guest shuttle drops off and picks up at Marketplace, just a short walk away from Olympic Plaza. Free transit and bike valet are also available for all concert dates.
