Steeps Grill On Whistler Mountain

This full-service dining restaurant attracts skiers and non-skiers to its panoramic glassed-in perch atop Whistler Village Gondola. Tucked inside the giant Roundhouse Lodge, Steeps’s menu reflects British Columbia’s best produce and wine (some ingredients are grown in the Pemberton Valley, just north of Whistler). Begin with a splash of Okanagan tipple by the glass, bottle or flight and opt for one of the more casual creations, like Korean fried chicken burger with pickled peppers and kimchi or sushi salad with steelhead trout, or plump for a three-course menu beginning with a handsome charcuterie for the table.

Although it's atop Whistler Mountain, you're likely to see as many non-skiers as skiers in the crowd dining here. That's because Steeps Grill & Wine Bar is located inside the enormous Roundhouse Lodge at the top of Whistler Village Gondola, and lots of the visitors are simply sightseers. While other mountain dining outlets tend to cater to the grab-and-go crowd, this venue is a stay-a-while, full-service dining affair offering lots of west coast favorites like smoked salmon chowder and sockeye salmon and succotash.

Lunch at Steeps is good, but try to do the hike in the morning and come back down for lunch at Sachi instead. Do make sure to take insect repellant with you.Also take your camera. We saw a gorgeous dark brown colored black bear on the golf course yesterday, and there is a mother with 3 cubs feeding on Whistler most days.

Special events are created to spoil food lovers; for instance, in winter you can visit Steeps Grill and Wine Bar for the Winemaker Lunch Series. A ticketed, multi-course lunch, this experience includes expert wine pairings such as a cabernet sauvignon with grass-fed Northfork farms elk tenderloin or a California red blend with shitake, oyster and shimeji mushroom bourginon. In partnership with celebrated chef David Hawksworth, an outdoor dining pop-up event in the summer serves an elegant four-course dinner with complementary wine pairings.

For farm to fork dining, head to Steep’s Grill and Wine Bar inside the Roundhouse Lodge where you can enjoy delicious food with mountain views. It’s one of the mountains full-service restaurants and perfect for a family night out or a dinner with friends – or just a table for one if you prefer dining solo!. On the menu, you’ll find plenty of fresh produce from nearby farms that are used to create the traditional dishes of British Columbia, including delicious grilled meats and fresh fish.

Steeps Grill and Wine Bar – Located inside the Roundhouse Lodge at the top of Whistler Mountain, Steeps has cathedral wood beam ceilings and a chic ski chalet meets fine-dining atmosphere. Offering indoor dining and a large covered patio that can be used year-round for ceremonies or cocktail hour, Steeps has capacity for 80 guests. This is also the only outdoor venue for ceremonies in the winter.

Try their wine flights, a selection of local wines mostly from the Okanagan region, BC’s version of Napa Valley. Their menu has a focus on farm-to-table produce, with many of the ingredients grown in the Pemberton Valley, a short drive north of Whistler.
