Reviews Summary
Elke's Table on 47th is praised for its delicious German-Mediterranean fusion, generous portions, and cozy, home-like atmosphere. While many rave about the schnitzel and homemade desserts, some diners note limited vegetarian options and occasional issues with kitchen ventilation. The self-service ordering system is a point of mixed feedback.
"We ordered Schnitzel, German sausages, and salad. Everything was perfectly delicious and way above my expectation for restaurants in such a small town. I would definitely recommend anyone coming to Yellowknife to try the food here, and would also come again ourselves the next time we’re in YK.
The waiter is very friendly and helpful. This seems to be a place where you need to clean up after yourself (with notes on the wall), but while we’re holding the dishes, the waiter came and helped us with the rest.
The only minor issue is that the smoke from the kitchen seems to slowly fill in the dining area, and at one point my eyes feel hurting and tearing a lot. If anyone has sensitive eyes like I do, maybe the place is more suitable for take-outs."

"Ample seating indoors and outdoors, menu is somewhat limited, not sure it lives up to the “Best German Restaurant in Yellowknife” claim, it’s just not German, semi self service restaurant, food is okay"

"Visited on saturday 12pm. As an operating hour I checked with google map, it opens 3pm on saturday, but,,I don't know it is wrong or just they made a meal for us 😅
Anyway, it was quite good experience. Food was delicious, proper portion. Staff wasn't so kind, friendly but I think she is just introvert, she wans't so unkind as well. Not bad.
The only thing I notice to others, ventilation system in the place was not that good. We felt something spicy in eyes, it was pretty uncomfortable to enjoy meal.
Almost everything was self-servied. (but as situation, she served sometimes)"

Family Friendly Restaurants in Yellowknife for Dinner
Elke’s is a small and quaint restaurant, almost like a bistro on the main floor of what looks to be a regular house (so don’t miss it when you stroll by). The chef/ owner focuses on German-Mediterranean cuisine but also local fish and chips, along with homemade desserts. The restaurant is small so either call ahead if your party is larger than 4 people.
