What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Bocca Osteria Romana offers an authentic Italian dining experience with many praising its fresh, homemade pasta and cozy atmosphere. However, some diners have encountered significant service issues, including long waits and slow service, which have detracted from their overall experience.
"Excellent food and service, by Bobby! The Boulevardier was among the best I ve tried. Ossobucco fell off the bone. So good.
Will visit again."

"Overall, I had a great experience at Bocca Osteria Romana in Santurce. The service was excellent—very attentive—and the cocktails were amazing. I tried the Aviation, and it was so good I ended up having two. We decided to visit after seeing a few intriguing Instagram reels, and while the food looked great, the flavor didn’t quite live up to the presentation. Still, it’s a beautiful spot to enjoy time with family, friends, or for a nice date night."

"Unfortunately, this was our second and last visit to Bocca Osteria Romana. Despite arriving on time for our reservation, it took over 20 minutes before anyone came to our table.
We ordered a bottle of wine, which was served at the wrong temperature—warm. After asking for it to be chilled, it was brought back nearly 20 minutes later and still not properly cooled.
The appetizers arrived late and were cold. The restaurant was clearly understaffed, with only a few servers trying to manage a full house.
When we asked about our main courses, we were told they would be out in 10 minutes. We waited 25 minutes, and the food never arrived. Only after asking for the check did someone admit that the dishes had not even been sent out yet.
We had hoped things would have improved since our first visit, but sadly, the service was just as slow—if not worse. With so many excellent dining options in San Juan, there’s simply no reason to come back. Deeply disappointing from start to finish."

The Ultimate Calle Loiza/Ocean Park Restaurant Guide & Map 2021
Bocca is a well known Italian/Roman restaurant on Calle Loiza founded by the Salvatore brothers (who spent many years in Rome with family). Bocca is known for a relaxing dimly-lit interior, great fresh pastas, Italian wines (like borolos and barbarescos) and a very solid overall dining experience. There aren't that many restaurants in Calle Loiza/Ocean Park well suited for a romantic couples evening/date spot and Bocca helps fill that void nicely.

Although on the pricier side, this restaurant is where you will find delicious homemade pasta and Italian dishes. I ordered the roast veal, and am still thinking about it to this day!. They offer the traditional 5-course Italian menu, but you are welcome to order a la carte however you wish.
