What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Mestizo is lauded for its stunning location in Parque Bicentenario and its delectable Chilean-Peruvian fusion cuisine, particularly seafood and Pisco Sours. While many praise the attentive service and beautiful ambiance, some diners have noted inconsistent food quality and portion sizes, along with occasional issues with smoking areas and flies.
"One of My Favorite Restaurants in the World
Eight years ago, I visited Mestizo with my parents, and it was one of the best experiences of my life. I’ve remembered that day ever since and always dreamed of coming back to Chile just to go there again.
Now, after traveling to over 25 countries, I can honestly say—Mestizo is still my top restaurant in the world. The atmosphere next to Parque Bicentenario is stunning, the service is amazing, and the food is unforgettable. The prices are also very fair for the quality and experience you get.
You have to try the mascarpone risotto—it’s absolutely incredible.
This place is something truly special, and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Santiago."

"The food is variable, portions on the small side. Service is efficient if a little perfunctory. The bread we got at the start of the meal was dry and had been reheated. For this price point, I'd expect freshly baked bread.
The key thing about this place is its lovely location by the park."
Fred Kelly
"Many people smoke outside so it’s not a good place to sit. Also many flies can be very disturbing. Traditional dishes are very good, but I don’t like the new dessert. Food is 5 star, service is okay."

A Foodie’s Guide to Restaurants in Santiago, Chile
Perched at the top of the well-kempt Bicentenario park, Mestizo is a stunning spot for a sundowner while gazing over the green lawns, fern-fronded ponds and tropical palm trees. And the food isn’t half bad either. I ordered the salmon and shrimp ceviche (again – I was a bit obsessed), while Mr Foodie tried a seared tuna steak with pistachio and parsley mash.
