Reviews Summary

Yat Tung Heen is a Michelin-starred Cantonese restaurant lauded for its sophisticated ambiance and high-quality dim sum. While many diners rave about the delicious food and elegant setting, some reviews mention inconsistent service and that certain dishes, like Peking duck, can be underwhelming or overpriced for the Michelin-star expectation. However, the overall consensus points to a refined dining experience worth visiting for authentic Cantonese flavors.

"Amazing service and food. Love the Peking duck. BBQ pork was a bit dry. Dim sum were all pretty good. Nice ambiance. Great place for family and friends gathering. Definitely would go back."

Pearline Lam

"I probably have an unpopular take and a little conflicted as I write this. I would have rated this place 3.5 stars if I could but the Michelin-star expectations and its price point is why I rounded it down to 3.
I do not think this place deserves a Michelin star. I think it devalues the Michelin stars awarded tbh. I know there are reviews that say this is their favorite of HK Michelin-starred dim sum places but I don’t have a comparison against those. I just know that I’ve been to places with one Michelin star that are not in HK that are more deserving.
That said, we had a 2:30pm reservation on a Friday and the place was half empty. There were no earlier reservations available.
The service was not particularly attentive or pleasant for a Michelin-starred place.
The food was not much better than a non-Michelin-starred place. The shumai was fine but had plenty better for less elsewhere. The crispy chicken was well done but again, have had better elsewhere. The beef chow fun had maybe 4 pieces of beef in it and was a bit of an oily soggy mess, no wok hei at all. I will admit that the roasted pork belly was delicious.
The
Maybe I ordered all the wrong things but I was just left wondering what all the fuss is about."

Donna Chung

"A very nice Dim Sum place. Can eat in peace without filling cramped and sharing table with strangers unlike many good food places in HK. You really pay for the ambience.
The food is not bad, but not very exceptional though.
Came on a weekday 11am and there was already a crowd waiting outside. All rushed in the moment the door opens.
Tip: place your quickly the moment you sit down, you can always order more later, so just order a few dim sum dishes first so that you don't have to wait too long before the food arrives to your table.
Then while eating Dim Sum, you can slowly browse the menu looking at other dishes like Crab Vermicelli or Dongbo Meat."

What: A salubrious setting, with louche, low-level lighting, is just the start of this appealing, well-run Chinese establishment in the Eaton hotel. But it’s the food that is the crowning virtue, as in braised pumpkin soup with bird's nest, crab meat and fish maw or deliciously sauced deep-fried tiger prawn with crispy rice. Precise technique and great textures are also seen in first rate vegetarian dishes and nice desserts.
