This funky restaurant serves exciting food with well-selected ingredients and offers a pretty rooftop on which to enjoy it all. The name doesn't just mean "artichoke" in Croatian: it's also a literal blend of "art" and čok (a nibble) because guests can enjoy both a fabulous visual experience—whether dining inside or alfresco—and fun modern bites. The attention to detail is notable, not only in the quality of the food but also in the presentation and service.

Chefs from Italy, France, Japan, Morocco, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, the UAE and Croatia, awarded with Michelin stars, Gault&Millau caps and other important culinary awards, filled 18 Split restaurants with their evenings: Adriatic Sushi&Oyster Bar, Artičok, Central-Hotel Santa Lucia, Chops Grill - Steak&Seafood, Dujkin dvor, Dvor, Méditerranée - Hotel Ambasador, Noir, Noštromo, Olive Tree, Pandora Greenbox, Pinku Fish&Wine, Štorija, Šug, Zinfandel, Zoi, Zrno Soli i Zora was where it was especially cheerful. The Mediterranean Women Chefs initiative was occupied by six chefs, and their dishes were accompanied by top Kvarner wines under the guidance of five top sommeliers.

If looking to splash out, head to Articok, a modern fine dining establishment located just by the northern city walls. Or, if looking to save some money and indulge in the local specialty, head back to Buffet Fife at the foot of the Marjan stairs, where you’ll be served some amazing local fare for staggeringly low prices. If looking for somewhere to drink after dinner, MoNIKa’s Wine Bar is located close by to both, or you could take a quick walk through town to the Zinfandel Wine Bar, both of which have impressive wine lists showcasing the best establishment Croatian wine you’re going to find.

This has all but changed in the last few years with restaurants like Zinfandel, Corto Maltese, Articok, O’Zlata, Mazzgoon and Bokeria (just to name a few); then, even more recently we have had some true concept restaurants open with likes of Terminal F, Bokamorra Pizza & Cocktails and To Je Tako. There is now plenty on offer to satisfy most any gastronomer, but there is one aspect which still hasn’t quite caught up – international cuisine.

ARTiČOK is a spot where fine dining takes on a whole new grungy and uniquely cool vibe. Recently renovated, this place oozes character and sets the stage for an exceptional dining experience. Boasting a rooftop patio with views of the city streets below, and live music during the summer months, ARTiČOK is a terrific spot for something a bit more special than your typical dinner out.

We were first lured into Articok by the tantalizing scent of Croatian fare that was floating from the kitchen. The pungent aroma of truffles, roasted meat and seafood was hanging heavy in the air – and it enticed us to sit down for a meal. Inside, engaging artwork is featured in the modern space and professional waiters warmly welcome guests into the sleek dining room.

Articok – food and bar – Articok is a charming little restaurant just outside Diocletian’s Palace. Known for its innovative and quirky dishes, like gin gazpacho and gnudi pasta, Articok offers a refreshing dining experience. While the prices may be a bit higher and the portions smaller, the quality of the food is exceptional.

It blends traditional Croatian cuisine, together with the modern caring and attentative staff. It is definitely a place where you can eat great pasticada (local beef stew that is truly a delicacy)!. Restaurant is located in the town center, few minutes away from the main promenade – Riva.

Articok is a must-visit family-friendly restaurant in Split, known for its delicious Mediterranean and Croatian cuisine. If you're looking for a place where the whole family can enjoy a meal, Articok is the spot. It has a cozy atmosphere that makes it perfect for families with kids.

This lovely spot is located on one of the most beautiful terraces in the city and just a few minutes from the waterfront. Owner Marin Radić, an interior designer, is responsible for the bohemian-decorated space. They have a dozen dishes on the menu and about 50 wine labels.

Artičok - Decorated in Dalmatian but also modern way, it is a beautiful place to enjoy the food. In the artsy interior, they serve delicious breakfast, lunch and dinner from a modern and international menu. Every meal from this unique menu will be an excellent choice.

That’s enough walking for one day and probably enough steep stairs for a lifetime. But you’ll be well up for eating again at this point. I really recommend the gorgeous Artičok, which serves delicious food on a fairy-lights-lit rooftop terrace.

It’s located just away from the main promenade called Riva in a nice quiet area. The place is ideal for a romantic meal. Above all, it’s a small, busy, and classically decorated restaurant with an open kitchen.
