Reviews Summary
La Štruk is praised for its dedication to the traditional Croatian dish, štrukli, offering a unique and authentic culinary experience. Diners love the variety of creative flavors and the cozy, welcoming atmosphere, especially the garden seating. However, some find the portions a bit small for the price, and a lack of other dishes like salads or vegetables is noted as a minor drawback.
"If you are looking to try some local food this is the right place! The pasta is homemade, fresh and tasty and the strukli are full of flavour especially the sweet ones, the combination of sweet and salty is done really well. Also the garden is pretty and makes the atmosphere even more welcoming. Don't miss this restaurant during your stay in Zagreb!"

"Zagreb feels a bit stuck in the Soviet era – not well-kept and not the liveliest vibe, and service around town can be a little cold. But La Štruk was a pleasant surprise! The staff here were friendly, and the food was excellent.
This spot serves only one dish – štrukli – but they do it exceptionally well. We went for the truffle version, and it was delicious – rich, cheesy, and perfectly baked. The restaurant has both indoor and courtyard seating; we dined indoors, which was cozy and welcoming.
Located right on the restaurant row, it’s definitely worth a stop if you want to try a truly local specialty done right."

"This dishes was unbelievable. I tried it for the first time and I loved it right away.
It has a little bit similar texture with Lasagna, but smoother. I ordered the original one (salted cheese).
This restaurant is the famous strukla place in Zagreb, hence in some cases it has long queue. So you better have a reservation before coming. My friends and I were lucky because we came early before everyone having dinner, so we got our place on the spot. I really recommend this place if you want to try the typical food of Zagreb."

The best budget restaurants and cheap eats in Zagreb | Zagreb restaurants
The doughy parcels known as štrukli constitute one of the trademarks of north-Croatian cuisine, and it was only a matter of time before they got their own dedicated restaurant. Štrukli come either boiled or baked; cheese štrukli are usually eaten as a savoury dish, although sweet versions with jam are also popular. At La Štruk you get a choice between several varieties: although the classic cheese edition occupies centre stage, they also conduct regular experiments (cheese and nettle štrukli; cheese and paprika štrukli) to demonstrate just how much potential the basic štrukli concept actually has.
Top 10 restaurants and bistros in Zagreb | Croatia holidays
One of Zagreb’s most popular one-dish bistros is La Štruk,” says Andrea Pisac, founder of city blog Zagreb Honestly. “Partly because štrukli (baked filo dough and cottage cheese; moreish but slightly sickly) is an authentic food, and partly because the place keeps thinking up new twists.” La Štruk has a really attractive tree-shaded back patio between stone buildings – ideal for trying štrukl twists such as pumpkin-pesto and blueberry.

A small restaurant with a pretty little courtyard in which to devour your strukli when the weather is nice (indoor seating is also available), their menu offers several versions of this pastry delight, with both savoury and sweet options available. Expert Guide to Zagreb
To get into the heart of northern Croatian cuisine, you must visit the restaurant La Štruk, serving traditional “štrukli” with different flavors. Štrukli is made by filling a thin dough with a blend of fresh cottage cheese, sometimes combined with sour cream, eggs, and a touch of salt. The filled dough is then rolled up, sliced into sections, and can be prepared in one of two primary ways: either by boiling or baking.

They specialize in strukli at La Struk, a local specialty that’s kinda like a Croatian version of a cannelloni. It’s filled with cheese, doused in some kind of béchamel-like sauce, and then baked. It wasn’t unpleasant to eat, but it was just way too one-note rich; it desperately needed something like a hot sauce to cut through the unrelenting heaviness.
