Casa Mia Paladar

One quintessential Havana experience is to eat at a paladar, an in-house restaurant that will provide you with an exceptionally personal eating experience. Casa Mía Paladar, on the other hand, built in Vedado just 2 kilometers from the Malecón, was an old family residence that was transformed into a luxury restaurant with a beautiful view of the sea. The specialty of the "house", according to the Excelencias Guide, is the Lobster a la Piña. However, other gastronomic proposals are offered, both international and national and fusion.

Casa Mia was one of my favorite dining experiences in Havana!. Since Casa Mia was not located in downtown Havana there were significantly less tourists which made it feel like a local’s favorite. This charming converted home overlooks the water and gives you the feel that you are a guest in someones home.

Another place that you cannot miss is Casa Mía Paladar, a family restaurant. It is located in the house where the owners grew up, the place is full of history and memories stored in its walls, hence the great sentimental value it represents for its creators. They have a varied food and wine menu.

Casa Mía is a living example of the new Cuban paladar (private restaurants). This is the story of a family that turned their house into a restaurant, like many others before them. The difference is that they didn’t have a large house with a spacious patio, but a rather small apartment.
