"This branch of the Brass Boer is located in the Blue Bay Resort. They have a location on Bonaire on top of the original Brass Boer in Zwolle, Netherlands.

I knew going in that this restaurant was going to be expensive and was aware of the small plate concept that they do. You can either order from a price fix menu or a la carte. You can pick from anywhere from 4-6 dishes. All of the food I had was phenomenal and like I mentioned before, the portions are quite small so you might not leave full by the end of your meal.

The atmosphere was a particular highlight, as the restaurant is open-air, so you can hear the waves crashing on the shoreline and the occasional rain shower that passed through during dinner. They also had some 80s and 90s music playing, which I thought was a little unprofessional considering this is a high end restaurant.

The service was friendly. The server was knowledgeable of the food and what was going on with each plate. My only drawback was that it sometimes took awhile to get refills on water, and even alcoholic drinks took a minute.

My only real complain and why I took a star off was the pace in which the first 2 courses came out. It was roughly 30-45 minutes between the first two courses, and then for whatever reason the wait time dropped for courses 3-5.

I’ve done a 20 course menu at a Michelin star restaurant in Norway and those 20 courses came out in the same timeframe that the 5 at Brass Boer came out. I’m all for the European experience of dinner, whereas in the states a meal out is often rushed, but this was just too long. From start to finish, dinner was almost 4 hours long. By the end of it, I was ready to just go home, instead of enjoying what the desert had to offer. In my opinion, the courses should come out every 15-20 minutes.

As for price, I knew going in that this would be an incredibly expensive dinner. It was around $820USD for 4 people, and bizarrely, the menu prices were in USD and not NAF. I’m not sure if that’s appropriate for this setting.

In conclusion, the Brass Boer Curaçao is a mixed bag, with delicious food and decent service, but the price, slow pace, and long waits for drink refills are significant detractors."

"In the fall, my boyfriend and I had the opportunity to experience Jonnie and Thérèse Boer’s De Librije in Zwolle, a culinary treat. While vacationing in Curaçao, we were delighted to discover they also helm other restaurants under the Brass Boer name, with locations in Zwolle, Bonaire, and Curaçao. Naturally, we could not resist visiting Brass Boer Curaçao during our trip, and it turned out to be an unforgettable experience.

Located northwest of Willemstad, nestled on the western side of the island within the picturesque Blue Bay Golf & Beach Resort, Brass Boer Curaçao offers an idyllic setting. We arrived shortly after sunset, greeted by a breathtaking view that perfectly set the tone for the evening. The restaurant caters to every occasion, whether it’s a romantic evening, a celebration, a casual meal with loved ones, or simply a serene escape. The space is thoughtfully designed to capture the island’s relaxed vibe while maintaining an air of sophistication. With a mix of indoor and outdoor seating, the ambiance is warm, intimate, and versatile—a testament to their exceptional planning. The menu, available in both Dutch and English, showcased a range of enticing options. We opted for the 5-course menu, which was an absolute treat, though the à la carte offerings also looked tempting enough to warrant a return visit. The Caribbean Bass and the 3x Citrus dishes were standouts for me. From the service to the flavors, a culinary experience that I wholeheartedly recommend.

One delightful surprise was learning that during the day, the restaurant transforms into Brass Boer Beach, a chic beach club offering palapas, lounge chairs, hammocks, and a laid-back menu. It’s the perfect spot to relax and enjoy the island’s natural beauty.

If you’re visiting Curaçao, make sure to reserve a table at Brass Boer. Whether for a gourmet dinner or a day at the beach, this is a must-visit destination for foodies and travelers alike."
