"Hidden treasure. You don't expect this place to be so nice from the outside. Atmosphere is cozy. Food is good, generous portions. Beer is on draft and cheaper then in tourist routes in Karlovy Vary. But they most significant thing for us was their service. Exceptional and truly friendly. Already visited twice and coming back to the rest of our stay."

(Better go to another restaurant with delicous, fresh food & superb service - "La Hospoda" in Kalovy Vary! This restaurant we can recommend!)

U Křížovníků - a terrible place to eat! Safe your time, health & money and do NOT eat here!
- abismal service/unmotivated, rude staff: at one point, we were the only 2 guests; still, we had to wait extremely long until our drinks and food orders were placed. One male waiter had long hair open - which is quite unhygenic and certainly not a standard of any respectible restaurant. There were 4 personal chatting to their heart's content; not one of them bothered to ask us if we wanted to order more drinks or dessert or whether the food was good (spoiler alert: the food was barely edible). We had to wait a long time for drinks as we saw how staff would rather chat than do their job. We had a starter, but instead of first carrying away the used/empty plates from the starter - which again is a "no brainer" and usually done in the restaurant business, the waiter basically just dumped our food on the table & only bothered to take some of the dirty/empty plates, bottles etc, as half of the empty cups & plates took up a lot if space on our table. We weren't offered a bigger table even though every single table was available. The red wine tasted very cheap as well (a cheap port wine is my guess) - he, the waiter with the long open hair, did not feel like offering to inform us of the (potential) wine choice. Also, we were not greeted when entering & no "goodbyes & thank you" were said from the staff as we left; the staff clearly could not have cared less about guests.
- the food was awful. The seasoning was off, the food was cold. The meat (rabbit leg) tasted like it had been made several days prior as it was extremely dry and tasted like a blend of gummy & plastic with lots of oil. The other meat dish (pork) was completely cold and basically tasted like fat. The sauces & side dishes tasted like store bought products - and not the good kind. The portions are big, but what's the use, if it is barely edible? Hours later, we still have that disgusting cold fat taste in our mouth: It really ruined our appetite for the rest of the day.
- interor design: okay, but several frames & other decor items were crooked on the wall & it was dusty (etc.); it seems that little to no effort is put in to keep the place neat & inviting.
-too expensive/ bad price & quality ratio: service was bad; food was clealy not fresh. I am scratching my head - how is this restaurant still in business? Nobody takes pride or has skills in their profession they have chosen, it seems. The owner really needs to train the staff on adequate & professional etiquette & to attend to guests instead of gossiping about guests... Moreover, the cook(s) desperately need to hone at least some culinary skills.

Wir arbeiten in dee Gastronomie & Catering-Branche und waren absolut enttäuscht, angekelt und schokiert: Das Essen ist kalt, fettig & alt (Fleisch schmeckt nach Gummi und Plastik; Beilagen ebenfalls unterdurchschnittlich). Der Service ist miserabel von Anfang bis Ende: man wird nicht begrüßt/verabschiedet; man wartet ewig obwohl der Laden leer ist uvm. Zu teuer für die Qualität des Essens, Service & der Atmosphäre. Gehen Sie lieber in ein anderes Restaurant mit tollem service & vorzüglichem Essen. Wir empfehlen: z.B. "La Hospoda""
