What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
La Degustation offers an exceptional fine dining experience with creative modern Czech cuisine and impeccable service. Diners rave about the unique tasting menus and attentive staff, particularly highlighting the open kitchen's performance. While most find the food delicious and the value for a Michelin-starred restaurant excellent, some mention occasional slow service or slightly less impactful dishes compared to others in Prague.
"Very nice experience for a casual tourist. I wouldn't say it's too snobby. I is more expensive than a normal restaurant, but the service and food quality you get for that is great. My experience cannot be described as a normal lunch, as it was more like a theme park ride. The point of visiting the restaurant wasn't about eating anymore, but more about enjoying the beautiful art of professional chefs.
Definitely recommended!"

"The atmosphere and experience was great. I can’t say I was blown away by the food but that said, it was still good food. At times, the service felt a little too much, we felt like we were under surveillance, not allowing for comfortable conversations.
The tasting menu was diverse and the wine paired very well. There were some dishes we didn’t care for too much but they were good. The Beef ribeye was hard to eat. The desserts were our favorite. We only spoke English and it was hard to understand the background of wine and food as the servers’ English wasn’t great, we can’t really be upset about this but perhaps took away from the experience.
Overall the food was good but we had better food at other places without the price tag. If you have time (and money) give it a try."

"What a lovely experience!! From start to finish was amazing. Such detailed care from each of their staff. The bathroom was nice and clean. The staff patiently explained every dish. They took care of our allergies seriously and gave alternatives that were delicious too. Highly recommend!"

where to splash on a meal
Arguably the best restaurant in town, La Degustation is one of the two Michelin stars in Prague, and the only restaurant that seriously pushes for the second and that tries to get it while cooking only Czech food. This is the place to go for true foodies: an open kitchen lets you peek into what’s happening behind the scene, with seven chefs putting the finishing touches and plating on plain sight. Chef Sahajdak puts a strong emphasis on local produce and seasonality: with the exception of foie gras and caviar, all the produce is Czech and mostly brought on a daily basis from cooperating farms.
