Sleek and relatively sophisticated, Lokál Dlouhááá takes the Czech pub concept to a new level with fresh local ingredients, perfectly poured beers, and friendly, efficient service. It makes for an idealized version of a corner restaurant out of another era, right down to the stark white walls, waiters in vests, and bathrooms wallpapered with old pinups and airplane posters. Many of the dishes have a modern twist: schnitzel is made from pork neck and served atop buttery whipped potatoes, while the Czech classic of svíčková (beef tenderloin in cream sauce) is tangy and fresh (not often the case at most pubs).

This centrally located restaurant is dedicated to reviving the best of Czech tradition at prices even local students can afford. Thus, it's in high demand for goulash, pork, dumplings (both bread-based and fruit-filled for afters) and a golden pour of pivo, or beer. A bustling but friendly scene can be expected, with long, low wooden tables and a truly local crowd.

The Lokál pub chain is best known for serving premium pilsner beer out of specially treated tanks. This branch, on Dlouhá Street in the Old Town, is the largest and has an interior modelled after the Czech beer halls of the ’60s and ’70s. Don’t let the fact that it’s a chain deter you though, this pub is a perfect place to either start off your night and pre-drink as there are a lot of clubs nearby or as a place to stop by in the afternoon and grab a drink while you eat. What makes visiting this place worth it is the interior of the pub is modeled on old school Czech pubs from the 60s and 70s so you can feel like you took a little step back in time.

If you were to wander off the block into this teeming beer hall, its unadorned look and often surly service might seem off putting. But for those in on the joke, there's humor (and appeal) in this throwback to a Communist-era canteen, where the interior design borders on austere, and your pivo (beer) is efficiently replaced as soon as you finish it. House specialties cover the classics, from cabbage soup to schnitzel to goulash; be sure to order a side of bread dumplings for mopping up sauces, as well as the excellent creamy spinach.

so imagine on the first day we left Budapest at around 6 something am and when we reached Prague we went to our Airbnb and by the time we left and came to the city center it was like 4-5 and we were famished. we had to walk for like 30 minutes and a couple of kilometers but we finally found it, at some point my family was about to give ua and just have burritos instead.
