What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Maitrea is highly praised for its delicious and diverse vegetarian and vegan offerings, including creative takes on traditional Czech dishes. Diners often commend the unique, tranquil ambiance and the friendly service. However, a few reviews mention instances of rude staff or a less cohesive atmosphere compared to its sister restaurant, with one reviewer also noting a charge for tap water.
"Very nice restaurant that serves cuisine from different parts of the world. If you want a change from local food and eat vegetarian, this is a good place. The ambiance is very inviting and the food is tasty. The restaurant can get quite busy and you should make it a point to reserve ahead of time. The staff are very nice and I could see they try to make their best effort to accommodate when you do not reserve. But when they are full, they do not hesitate to inform the guest that all the reservations are full. Definitely a must try place and something you should make sure to plan ahead of time."

"Great Vegetarian Restaurant in Central Prague.
Thoughly enjoyable meals, with great service in a lovely environment. On a relatively quiet street for Central Old Town Prague, you'll find a gem of a restaurant. It looks small, but with rooms downstairs, it can seat around seventy.
The "Maitrea selection for two people" is highly recommended, with quesadillas and burgers paired up with kimchi and potatoes and sauces - kimchi with quesadillas? It works!
The black beer goulash and the vegetarian take on traditional Czech svìčkovà were great dishes too!
Restaurant takes cards and cash. Customer toilets clean. Multiple languages spoken."
