Rachel was extremely transparent about pricing and expectations throughout the entire year we spent planning for our big day. We knew down to the penny what was owed and every time we made modifications, we received an updated quote. We never felt pressured to upgrade or add in certain extras. Kukua staff were friendly and highly professional! Food was fantastic and venue felt so private compared to the other weddings we saw at our resort. As someone who used to work in the service/catering industry, I was very impressed and cannot recommend this venue enough!"

Pre-wedding - 10/10: they say organising a wedding can be one of the most stressful things, however for us this was not the case, we absolutely loved the whole process and journey of planning our dream wedding and that is all thanks to Rachel. Rachel was an absolute joy, the sweetest person ever and was there for us through every little step. We looked forward to all of our meetings with her and she makes you feel so special. With every question I had she would respond so quickly. With all my crazy ideas she was honest about what she would think would work with our small intimate party and made so many good suggestions to make things more cost effective for us. We are so thankful to you Rachel and couldn’t have done this without you. Venue / Decor - 10/10:We were lucky enough to have a holiday in Punta Cana two years before our wedding and got to see Kukua in all its beauty before making a decision. As soon as we looked round we knew this was going to be our wedding venue. Kukua is absolutely stunning in all of the pictures however it is even better in person. Our decor was exactly how I envisioned and there was so many small touches that just made it so personal and special. When arriving at the venue on the day I was blown away with how beautiful everything was. Being a small party our biggest concern was filling the space. Rachel squashed all my worries and mayte did an incredible job in filling space and making it look perfect. I was absolutely obsessed with my flowers from our arch to my bouquet to the small details if Mayte / Kukua Staff - 10/10: when arriving for our meeting and tasting of cocktails 2 days before the wedding we honestly felt like royalty. The staff wouldn’t let us carry anything and was given Prosecco on arrival, we had a tour round the venue and then was met with the lovely Mayte. She is the loveliest person and went through every small detail and was so accommodating when we had a few little tweaks to make. On the wedding day she was there for us all through every little step, kept checking in to see if we needed anything and most importantly made my dreams come to life. The staff at Kukua were exceptional, couldn’t do enough for you and were so professional throughout our wedding day. Food/Drink 10/10: Due to our small party we didn’t get to have the full tasting of food when we met mayte. However we did get to taste all of our chosen cocktails and just wow, incredible. We chose pina colada as our welcome cocktail and it was delicious. Our two signature cocktails were passion fruit mojito and something blue, both were absolutely incredible however I think majority of our party preferred the something blue. The menu we picked was ‘Isla Catalina’ and I was a bit nervous as like I said we didn’t get to try the food before however i could not fault any of the food that was served to us that day. All our guests loved every single course and loved the appetizers during cocktail hour. For dessert we had our wedding cake and again was so delicious. We picked up our wedding cake the next day and kept it in our room, we had our last bit of cake a week after the wedding and it still tasted as fresh as it did on the wedding day. Overall I could not fault a single thing about our wedding, our dream Pinterest wedding came to live thanks to all of these beautiful people. I can’t believe it’s all over :( my biggest advice would be to take in every single moment and enjoy it as it really is over so quickly. "Our wedding took place on 12/5/2024 and we had about 50 of our Friends and Family members attending our special day. We had several complements on how amazing our Kukua wedding was from all of our guests.

Wedding Decor: We went with a Boho themed wedding with Blush, Cream, Green and lots of Pampas! It was everything I could imagine and more. I Showed Rachel the inspiration and that is exactly what I got. I was honestly speechless when I stepped outside and saw the finished project. Any future bride I am telling you right now don’t be stressed it will be exactly or even more than what you envision.

Planner/Staff/ I don’t think I can recommend enough how stress free and productive the whole wedding planning process was. Rachel was by our side every step of the way helping us stay in budget and make our dream wedding come true. The whole staff on the day of were so kind and were always right there if you needed anything. I can tell you my guests LOVED the bartenders lol. I had to switch the schedule up last minute due to me needing to take my dress off so I could breath lol I changed the order and did my first dance and entrance before dinner so I could change into my second dress and relax. I asked Mayte if she could make it happen in the moment and it was switched and resolved within a minute. Rachel and Mayte were so incredible to work with and really made our day so much more special knowing that they were there to take care of everything!

DJ: the DJ was so fabulous! My husband and I made 3 playlists on Spotify: one for cocktail hour which we did for an hour and a half (Highly Recommend), one for Dinner and another for the party. We shared these 3 playlist with him and he did his thing. I highly suggest making those playlists so you know all the songs that are going to be played. He was so attentive the whole time if I gave him a look he knew it was time to switch up the song lol. If any request we had last minute for song choice he was on it.

Food and Drinks: THE FOOD IS SO GOOD! All of our guests keep coming up to us and saying this is the best food they have ever had at a wedding. So if that tells you something you know it’s great. We did the Seabass and Mole chicken it had lots a flavor and did not disappoint. Unfortunately I was unable to eat most of my food so they were so kind to put it in a to-go box for me to take back and eat later that night which I did!!! It was just the little things that meant a lot to me. The cake was very good there was none left over lol the churros were also a big hit as well. For our signature drinks we did custom ones to our beloved Kitty Mochi. We did a Mochi Margarita and a Minou Mojito. The Guest loved it we had a cute sign and all.

Hair and Makeup: I went with Melody Martinez and it was the best decision ever!! I was full glam and felt absolutely beautiful. The Makeup and hair lasted all day and might even after we jumped in the pool at the end my face still looked on point. I can’t recommend her enough!!!! If she lived in the US I would have her do my make up and hair for any big events.

Photography: We went with BOYKO and they were incredible! The quality of our photos and video production were amazing. They helped every step of the way with directions and ways to pose so I could look the best I could be on our wedding day. The staff was so kind and on a mission to make your day memorable forever.

Overall the experience my husband and I had with KUKUA was absolutely Incredible. If I could do it all I again I would do it in a heart beat and not change a single thing!"
