What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Pat'e Palo European Brasserie offers a stunning historical ambiance and a prime location on Plaza de Espana. While many praise the inviting atmosphere and certain dishes like the skirt steak and crispy apple dessert, some reviews point to disappointing food quality, minuscule portions, and high prices for the value. Service can be inconsistent, with some diners experiencing attentiveness and others feeling neglected.
"During my short stay in SD this weekend, my brother took me to this restaurant, which i had heard of, but never had the chance to visit. The place was basically empty, but i was not discouraged. The decoration is beautiful, (i sat inside as there were patrons smoking cigars which i dislike with passion). The server was courteous and professional. I ordered what i came for: a burguer. In their menu they only have one beef and one shrimp burger (?). The burger was beefy , juicy and delicious. Maybe a tad on the high side on truffle. While toppings tend to elevate the "burger" experience, i like to judge the burger by their meat without disguising it. The fries that come with it were crunchy in the outside, perfectly seasoned. I highly recommend this place.
The burger was $900 pesos, plus tax and tip, not bad for the quality."

"The restaurant has a lovely and inviting atmosphere, perfect for a relaxing evening. However, the food and presentation were disappointing. We waited forever for our meals, and when they finally arrived, the carbonara was a disaster—made with cream and mushrooms, which completely ruined the dish. Sadly, the overall experience didn’t live up to the ambiance."

"We had lunch here and it's a beautiful location! Right there on the plaza in a row of restaurants, it offers a nice view of the people coming and going if you're seated outside. Inside it's cool and air conditioned.
With the staff wearing pirate gear it's kind of cute and I think the decor reflects the theme.
We had drinks, crispy apples and croquettes as appetizers which were all very good. For the main course it was steak and the goat cheese salad, the coconut curry shrimp, the mushroom risotto, and the mahi mahi. They were all good, though the sauce for the mahi mahi didn't have much flavor.
It was a nice dining experience. Parking around the corner at the parking garage is about 100 pesos."
