What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Dos Sucres is celebrated for its innovative Ecuadorian cuisine, utilizing local, organic ingredients with a modern twist. Diners rave about the unique tasting menus and the passionate service from Chef Daniel. However, some reviews mention inconsistent execution and a perceived 'snobby' attitude from some staff, with a few finding portions small for the price.
"We had dinner here and it was fabulous. They had a jazz trio playing on the patio, that really makes for a great ambiance.
I had an ahumadito, an excellent cocktail, and my wife had a negroni.
For appetizers, we had bread with a tasty butter, a cabbage wrap, and fried cauliflower. I think we over-ordered a bit, but all of these were excellent and beautifully presented.
For mains we had stewed lamb and chicken confit. Both dishes were fantastic.
We ordered and ate a postre for dessert, but the ahumaditos erased the name from my memory.
In summary, great food that was well presented and a pleasant atmosphere. Perfect place for the occasional splurge."

"Ordered the tasting 6 course meal for lunch, portions were adequate food was delicious. However; I was taken aback that the menu specifically states that they use local ingredients in season and the meal had a Mexican flare the soup had chayote, the corn tortilla, mole and green tomatillo sauce with crunchy tortilla. I honestly thought I was going to be in for authentic Ecuadorian food elevated to the next level. The food did taste good, just not what I thought."
Sandra Montero
"This is the best example of Ecuadorian cuisine! Before coming to this wonderful country i had a perception that the food is gonna be super fried and simple. I WAS WRONG! And this place, of the best ones we tried, had proved how rich and flavorful this cuisine is. The combination of sweet, sour, salty and fruity is mixed together in something unbelievable in your mouth. It’s hard to explain, you just need to try it!
Service was 100 out of 10, very attentive and polite staff. The place is very stylish! I highly recommend coming and trying these unforgettable dishes!"
